Additionally you can rush through them if you have a relative notion of where they are using the scan's direction as an indicator. I've even threaded the needle while on a bike, but is a bit hard to pull off, so stick to sneaking by for the time being.
Later on you get several options to fight them, but during the first few hours you're expected to simply sneak or circle way around them (when possible).
EDIT: Try no to wait the timefall out. There are some instances where the rain won't go away and it's scripted to stay there forever, and there are other areas where it changes with the passage of time but you also get a structure you can use to fast forward through 10 minute chunks so you don't have to sit for 20 minutes waiting for the rain to stop.
Shouldn't be too much longer before you unlock EX grenade 0's, which make BTs run away from the impact site. Useful for dense areas.
1. Sneak through them
2. drop off your cargo somewhere nearby (in a truck or something), let yourself get captured by the BTs, fight and kill the boss, clear skies, and progress. Plus you get a lot of crystals
3. Go around. Don't worry about the rain. it'll only destroy the packaging, it won't destroy cargo. a repair spray will fix it anyways, or a timefall shelter
if you need help, send me a PM, i'll help you out
2) Press Q to scan the land as this can highlight BTs too.
3) Press C to crouch and walk slowly
4) Press ALT to hold your breath
With the combination of all the above you can walk through pretty much any BT area (at least that I've encountered so far) without triggering them.
I've also tried holding my breath and crouching and slowly finding a path through them. Move forward a bit, stop, let the scanner find them again, etc. Unfortunately that has not worked so far. Every time I stop and reacquire them, they have moved closer to me. Eventually no matter how careful I am they seem to find me.
I had not thought about dropping my cargo and deliberately getting in a fight with them. If I can do that, that seems like a plan
the ordradek will point at the closest BT to you.
the faster it blinks the closer it is. honestly if it's just blinking once every few seconds, you can walk (or run if you're feeling ballsy). once it's blinking super quick, start crouching, scan. see how many there are, and if you got one, hematic grenade out of your way. if don't have hematics yet, EX 1 it, or EX 2 somewhere you're not gonna walk towards to lure it away.
if the scanner turns orange and starts spinning, that means the BT is right next to you.
also, when you're crouching, make sure to press CTRL to crouch walk slower
Just continue with the story.
You will get grenades very soon. And at some point you will connect a weather station to the network and will get reports via cufflink in return. From there on it's practically possible to avoid BTs completly.
2. avoid them like landmines
3. get spotted by one, run like hell.. drop a grenade on the oily zombies to escape
If you have BB with you you can always avoid them by holding your breath.
Hold your breath and let go when you are a little away from them.
When you see them, don't move, wait for them to move and if they do, you will see if they can feel you because of marks on the ground.
When you see marks just hold your breath and stay crouched, walk little by little.
Most of the time the BTs aren't everywhere.
if you get caught just push them away and run as fast as you can.
For your cargo you can put everything on the ground and use Spray on it to get the cargo resist back to 100%.
I hope you get it together :)
