Text chat in RDO?

Is that a thing that's being worked on? It would greatly increase my enjoyment if I could actually communicate with other players without being forced to have a headset

Yep, I just bought the game, soooooo glad I chose to play online first and found out they have copied Fallout 76 and removed text chat .. so I can refund!

it sucks, text chat would make rdo ten times better, friendlier, more fun and easier to socialize. noone uses voice chat as it is anyway and if they do most of times its some kid autistic screaching or yelling the n word

Lets be real. Text chat in gaming is pretty obsolete at this point.

Xbox and PS both have voice chat... for pretty much everything.

PC does as well. If a game does not natively support voice chat there are a few 3rd party applications that provide the service as well. You can get a good headset/mic for under 50.

At this point the only thing forcing you from not communicating with other people is you.

Very few people use mics so most team activities are carried out in total silence. It's been a major disappointment. :/

If you have the need to talk to other People in a Game, thats your Problem and i dont judge you for that. But who the hell are you saying that has to be the only way to communicate?!
All that lazy "Arguments" against Textchat can be invalidated by one single fact. Its OPTIONAL!

um are you new to PC? obsolete my ass. why do all mmo and PC MP has text chat if it's obsolete? i've seen more people using text chat in overwatch over voice chat.  this game doesn't have text chat because it's a console port. period. console gamers don't use text chat.

Hell the headset isn't even worth it. The only time I've ever heard anyone speak was some lady yelling at me in chinese as she ran by.

Gta v had text chat why cant we have it here ? Its such a simple little feature, in some lobbies i have to spend hours looking for players, with text chat i could just ask "hey anyone in blackwater? If so ur a fa g come fight me ;D" xd

They don't want their game to be a place full of chinese people spamming / promoting their illegal stuff / services just like in GTAV. Its really annoying.

I use a headset but a text chat would be really handy. I sometimes try to communicate with players but i rarely get a reply. Not everyone is able to talk in English. Writing in English is easier than speaking it for some people.
