Which Version For Offline Only
I rarely play online games these days, too old. A good friend told me a couple of years ago to try this as it's excellent. And I do love FPS Rpg's.

Anyway, Normal version available for £20 for me with coupon. I dont see any DLC, certainly no story dlc.

So, is the normal version everything I need. I have no interest in RDOnline.
Thanks.

I also love RPGs and this game is not (supposed) to be one at all, but it's still the single best game I've ever played and I dare to say I've played everything worth mentioning. Some of my favorite games are Alien: Isolation, BioShock, Fallout, Prey, System Shock 2 and so on, for reference. You won't miss out on anything by going for the standard edition.

Base game has both single player and online included..
Only DLC available is for online only, so you can skip that..

Game has no DLC expansions yet and probably will never . the ultimate edition just does not worth it , you willl get a horse and some guns which you would have enough money to buy them all by the end of chapter two even without grinding.

You can buy the Red dead Online stand alone version just to play the online part , but you can't buy the story mode only , it's not like you are paying extra for the online but rather online is available cheaper fo those who want to play online and maybe later on purchase the story mode if they want .

The special and ultimate editions include the Rhodes bank robbery mission, free guns and a horse (maybe more), the standard does not.
The only thing that i would really miss is the Rhodes bank job, but it's not the best mission.

Thanks for the info. I do prefer First person as a general rule. But, like the games you just listed; Ive played them all. Skyrim I sometimes play in Third person,

I know to grab just the standard edition, much appreciated.

First person wouldn't be so bad if the FOV was more accurate and realistic. And that the camera wasn't so bad when on horse-back.
