MAJOR SPOILER: Arthurs End?
hey adventurers.

as in title, major spoilers coming. btw, I play on xbox one.

so, a friend told me by accident, that arthur is gonna die at the end of the game. there would have been better ways from R*, to say: "no, we dont even THINK of making a singleplayer DLC!". but hey, what can we do? RDR2 SP is dead anyway, as same as online mode (which is/was THE money source in GTA) and Arthur is also dead. all dead.

I'm currently early in the game, in the camp near rhodes and my friend really ruined the fun for me. arthur seems to be the only one doing anything useful - I've not seen the other outlaws contributing much money to the gang, or even do simple tasks, like woodchopping, carry bags to the kitchen wagon or even feed the horses. arthur does it all. I contributed 1200 dollars (!) to the gangs money pool (just to get betrayed in the end) and then I look in the money book: xyz donated a squirrel for 25 cents - oh, how generous.

its like it is now, and I try to explore as much as I can. but I have arthurs end in mind. I know only one way to save arthur and thats to leave mikah rot in the cell in strawberry. you just dont help him escape and you ride quickly away. the "mission is lost" audiovisuals will appear, but afterwards the credits will roll. I think, its much more an easteregg, than a real solution, as we dont see the outcome of the narrative.

so we have 4 endings, depending on the players karma. will I be able to play the game as marston after the credits and will all stats be equal to arthurs, including all gear, talismans, money, etc?

if you wanna add anything, feel free to do so. any help is appreciated.

Don't worry, just play the game. All Arthur's belongings, unlocks and progress will be equal to Marston.

If you've enjoyed the game up til this point in the story, I'd say keep up playing. I accidentally spoiled the ending for myself on my first playthrough too, although it has happened when youtube recommended me a video with a name and thumbnail spoiling the game's end.
It's quite difficult to stay away from spoilers. For what is worth, the story will progress into a very very satisfying conclusion after all and despite the unfortunate case of spoiling the end, the story of Red Dead Redemption 2 is crafted carefully enough to impress you up again as it had impressed me.
Keep playing and avoid further spoilers. Hearing the ending of a story versus living through the story on your own are two totally uncompareable differences.

This is how i feel about the story. I got spoiled the same way but i still ended up crying my eyes out in the end. Its honeslty an amazing story even if you get spoiled to it.

It's actually quite obvious, early in the game, that Arthur dies, if you're paying attention. What I didn't know was that he'd die on my watch, and then I'd start that boring ass ranch worker stuff as John.

All Arthurs remaining stranger quests can be continued and complted.
There is also a lot more added on for John.
