How to earn gold without paying real money?

How can i earn gold bars without spending real money? I don't care if it will take a lot of time, i just don't wanna spend any money

i got from bounty hunter and stranger mission

daily challenges (listed on the player menu from tapping left on directional-pad) are one of the most common ways to farm gold since everyone has access to them. some can be difficult and are not worth it in my opinion.

there are 2, much more consistent, gold farming methods
- stranger missions
- bounty hunter missions (once you unlock the bounty hunter role)

also any treasure maps you have should lead to some gold reward

and participation in free-roam events rewards gold... so those are always worth joining

Read the warnings, usually you lose all your pelts that are not yet sold/donated. So if you want to participate quickly offload your pelts first then press L and accept the pending invite.

bounty hunter role requires gold to unlock, it is probably the absolute best/most consistent method of farming gold however, so probably wise to unlock it first in order to farm gold for unlocking the other roles and other things after...

rockstar used to have a perk not to long ago if you 2 step authenticate they'll give free bars.

These are how you’ll generate gold until you you can unlock the Bounty Hunter Role.

Once you have this Role, doing bounties will probably be your most reliable way to continuously earn gold.

You're joining at a bad time if you want to own gold, since Rockstar just reduced the gold bar reward from doing Daily Objectives by HALF.

Why would they do this when also releasing the RDO standlone version? Because they want you to spend money on gold when you realize how bad the grind is going to be. Don't buy it and don't support these scummy practices.

pfffbth it's $5 for the cartridge (RDO standalone). eat it. i woulda killed to have a deal like that in my nintendo days. so i pay the 5 then maybe 20 more tops to unlock a ton of stuff off the bat. sounds more than fair to me. then again rdo IS the full game to me. online modes is where all replay value lies in all videogames.

Like GTA:O, a lot of the stuff is gated behind rank (level) unlocks. If you buy gold early with cash and don't know how to allocate it, you're just wasting money. RDO is a slower, more deliberate, and arguably more boring version of GTA:O, but with a worse grind.

I might have agreed if it was only like this for those who bought the standalone, but instead me, a new player who just bought the game for $40 during the sale last week, I am in a position where I would have to spend money to cancel out/lessen a grind that's there to milk those who bought the standalone.

I didn't see anyone mention the awards section under progress. That used to give you .4 gold up to 10 times if you reset the challenges regularly. Some of those are pretty easy, like spend money in shops, etc. Sell 100 herbs to a doctor. Not sure if they changed that with the new patch.

Just have a little patience and play for fun and you'll accumulate it over time. You don't need any of the roles right away. It starts to come at you a lot faster as you progress through the game. Sheesh, I remember when 2 gold for a pair of overalls was a large purchase. Now I often spend gold instead of money because you actually have to earn money in the game.

Also, wait for sales: the roles all go 5 gold off pretty regularly.

There's no time limit, though. and he has the issue of needing the 10-15 gold to unlock it anyway.
