Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2

Statistiche:
Performance on gtx 1060 6gb?
Howdy folks, when RDR2 came out on console I bought and played it (75% into story) on xbox one. I don't have the xbox anymore and I would like to play the game again. However, I also have a PS4 slim now, for which I could buy the game for about 10 euro's less.

Would you think the difference in graphics and performance justify the 10 euro price difference, considering I would run it on a gtx 1060 6gb, i7-3770 and 8gb ram?

Going by some YT performance vids with this setup, I could run the game on a combination of med-high-ultra settings, with a fps around the 40-50. Just wondering if that would be a noticeable difference from regular PS4 version.

Glad to hear your opinion!

I have the same gpu excellent card and this game ran perfect. 16 gig of ram recommened.
I got 60 fps and played on high well ultra high tends to make the graphics too much.
Have not tested it on PS4 but I assume the PS4 would be as good if not better than a PC simply cause its an entirely different game platform.

I got I7 6700k, GTX 980 Ti (6GB) and 32 GB RAM and it runs with mixed settings (ultra/high/med nearly at 35/45 fps on Full HD. After some playtime i get a few framedrops, but thats very rare. I'll post my game settings if you wish.

I can agree. 8GB Ram doesn't have a big affect here if you don't have great programs in the background like Chrome etc.

PS4 is running a mixture of high, medium + Ultra textures and some stuff even lower than low means on PC. Especially in city's you are facing framedrops but this is the same on PC.
The fact that RDR2 is locked to 30 FPS on console is a no brainer for choosing the PC version imo.
Playing on custom settings. Ultra textures, Ultra lighting (Drops in Saint Denis), High Shadows, medium TAA( cause high is too blurry). To add sharpness i even use 1.25 dynamic resolution modifier. So consider that i ve set all visually necessary settings on Ultra/High. I am getting 30-35 FPS with these settings. But considering how smooth is frametime in rdr 2 on 30 fps, id say it's pretty nice. GTX 1060 6 gb

Yes. I own it for PS4, too. The 30 FPS are not a huge impact on this game. Cause everything seems to be designed for low fps. I prefer stable frametime, too. So I decided to take a look at digital foundry's guide how to achieve the nearly same look like on PS4 and locked it to 40 FPS without vsync. That's what i get in towns.

You can make it look even better+plus if you have an Nvidia card you can use it's nice Nvidia Freestyle to adjust color, shadow depth and sharpness of the image and achieve nice visual quality

Im on NVIDIA yes. But I'm not a huge friend of GeForce experience by the way. But I'll give it a try.
Thanks for your replies all, think i'll give the PC version a try!
