man you're wrong on every point
(if i can find a way to link it properly)[www.reddit.com]
Steam: Forum, Community, PEOPLE, Guides, Offline Mode, More friends.
Epic: no forum, no community, no guides, no friends, always logged, .
Devs pay selling on steam, you are right, but what Steam can offer? I don't think R* needs money and i don't like Epic way to make marketing.
You can, but having it all in one spot is a HUGE boon. Patch notes, game news (on the store page and in the library), forums, reviews, trailers, etc. Sure I could look up each by itself but it's nice to have all in one spot. That's why Steam is better, its more than a bare bones store, its a gaming ecosystem.
Steam friends is super easy and works with most games.
Epic server was down a few months back (maybe a year, honestly it blends in COVID world) and I couldn't play any of my games on there, so not sure if that's %100.
But they do have a few things Steam doesn't like: a lack of a shopping cart, lack of user reviews, lack of mod support, no trading market, no profiles, no achievements, and forcing players to use their launcher through paid exclusives. That last bit alone is enough for me, shady AF.
Wrong. This isnt with all games. There is alot of games on steam you need to buy to get access to forums.
Like buying out crowdfunded games at the 11th hour and buying them into exclusivity against the wishes of nearly everyone who put money in, their platform is constantly phoning around a huge amount in the background, they routinely find new ways to make their platform malfunction with the latest being when even in the background, the launcher was pulling a ton of resources and heating people's systems up, they couldn't do something so simple as making a shopping cart on their crap storefront.
And of course what's worse is that they know they can get away with half-assing it because again, infinite money to just buy more games out and try to twist people's arm into using their shamefully poor software unless they wanna wait the extra year.
2) Developers Save money because EPIC charges them a fair price for using their store"
lol on what planet is that true
This one
Plus Epic pissed me off as I was about to buy Metro Exodus when they came in and flogged it off Steam. Can't stand that shady business practice. Remember when Epic bought out crowd funded games that promised a Steam release?
Also wtf were they thinking when they pulled that stunt on bypassing Apple store in regards to Fortnite. Can't trust a company that willingly breaks rules they agreed to abide by.
Anyway if Epic is sooooo good wtf are you here ♥♥♥♥ stirring then? No forums or something?
