Why would you buy RDR2 on Steam instead of EPIC?
I am just curious as I have stopped buying most of my games on Steam and I buy from EPIC if I could. Reasons are as follows

1) I save money because EPIC charges developers a fair price for using their store

2) Developers Save money because EPIC charges them a fair price for using their store

3) Steam has blatantly ripped off developers to build their empire with enormous cut from the profits of their games and actually caused some companies to go bankrupt preventing us from even getting a sequel.

4) Steam is a monopoly and has gradually shown they are willing to take full advantage of that

5) Steam has conspired with Bethesda to charge people for Mods in Skyrim years ago and when people spoke out against it, Valve Employees outright banned the posting rights of those users on the entire Steam Platform.

I got RDR2 for $26 on Epic last week and I got GTAV Free aswell as World War Z Free.

EPIC games helps developers create Cross Platform Play, World War Z for example has cross play among PC and XBOX and soon it's coming to PS4.

EPIC is actively trying to make Cross Play the norm which would have the single largest impact on Fighting Games since Fighting Games die very quickly on PC Platform. They havee gone out of their way to solve the single biggest issue regarding Cross Play between Console and PC which is devs not having the money or resources to implement servers for Cross Play, EPIC is standing the cost of such a service.

You may dislike this post, however after researching and keeping a close eye on EPIC and how they have used that Fortnite money to actively benefit Gamers across the board my decision to support EPIC was an easy one.

Because my 200 more games is in steam. It just pain in the butt to have multiple launcher and switch between them. I have game in epic (Anno1800) and the launcher loading is horrible. Its not that I hate epic, I like the idea, but I love efficiency more...

I don't want to use yet another game library platform type of service on my computer. I already have like 10 and the Epic store just re-covers every game I have on another platform. I steadfastly refuse to buy anything on Epic. Plus all of my friends still use Steam and it doesn't look like any of them are migrating.
Hey you guys remember that one time that a company that makes half a billion dollars a year released a store front over 2+ years ago and it still doesn't have a shopping cart. Crazy.

Honestly?
Steam: Forum, Community, PEOPLE, Guides, Offline Mode, More friends.
Epic: no forum, no community, no guides, no friends, always logged, .

Devs pay selling on steam, you are right, but what Steam can offer? I don't think R* needs money and i don't like Epic way to make marketing.

When buying a game you can use what ever forum is available for that game, regardless of where you bought it.

You can read guides regardless if you even own the game at all or not.

Friends? RDR online isn't specific to a store; Steam, Epic, and Rockstar users can all play together

Epic has Offline mode as well, and it does work, they have had offline mode for over 2 years now.

You can, but having it all in one spot is a HUGE boon. Patch notes, game news (on the store page and in the library), forums, reviews, trailers, etc. Sure I could look up each by itself but it's nice to have all in one spot. That's why Steam is better, its more than a bare bones store, its a gaming ecosystem.

Steam friends is super easy and works with most games.

Epic server was down a few months back (maybe a year, honestly it blends in COVID world) and I couldn't play any of my games on there, so not sure if that's %100.

But they do have a few things Steam doesn't like: a lack of a shopping cart, lack of user reviews, lack of mod support, no trading market, no profiles, no achievements, and forcing players to use their launcher through paid exclusives. That last bit alone is enough for me, shady AF.

Wrong. This isnt with all games. There is alot of games on steam you need to buy to get access to forums.
Epic are a bunch of assclowns that aren't actually trying to provide any good service, they just have infinite forkknife money to shove their way into "competition" by doing incredibly anti-consumer practices.

Like buying out crowdfunded games at the 11th hour and buying them into exclusivity against the wishes of nearly everyone who put money in, their platform is constantly phoning around a huge amount in the background, they routinely find new ways to make their platform malfunction with the latest being when even in the background, the launcher was pulling a ton of resources and heating people's systems up, they couldn't do something so simple as making a shopping cart on their crap storefront.

And of course what's worse is that they know they can get away with half-assing it because again, infinite money to just buy more games out and try to twist people's arm into using their shamefully poor software unless they wanna wait the extra year.

lol on what planet is that true
why are you posting this in steam and not epic......oh yea:steamfacepalm:
Epic was like my side-♥♥♥♥♥ booty call with all the free games, but steam is the one I put the ring on.

...to indentify one self through a digital platform so much that you have to argue on "what side you are", that's just truly sad. These are multimillionbillion dollar companies, I personally just buy games and play them. Keys are bought through internet, I don't even remember the last time I made a full priced purchase on a game. Thought of making that pre-order mistake with Cyberpunk2077, but glad that I saw it through as CDPR turned out to be just another games studio with money values over human values. So in conclusion be epic, be steam, be a dumbass generally, that's your choice...

This one :p2cube:
Because I'm sick and tired of having to have multi game launchers installed on my computer. Steam is easy to use, offered prices in my currency, offers gift cards, larger user base, Steam sales etc..

Plus Epic pissed me off as I was about to buy Metro Exodus when they came in and flogged it off Steam. Can't stand that shady business practice. Remember when Epic bought out crowd funded games that promised a Steam release?

Also wtf were they thinking when they pulled that stunt on bypassing Apple store in regards to Fortnite. Can't trust a company that willingly breaks rules they agreed to abide by.

Anyway if Epic is sooooo good wtf are you here ♥♥♥♥ stirring then? No forums or something?

For ♥♥♥♥'s sake this is 2 years worth of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, no need to "wonder why" anymore.
