I feel the opposite. It leaves out a portion of the game. I got my horse and that was it. Stayed with my from start to finish. If one loses it, then they're screwed (I assume it can die like the others, I don't know, I never lost mine) and would have to reload.
I missed out on so many horses with the hunting, capturing, training and selling and feeling the difference between them, getting a sense of progression as what is the point? You pretty much start with the best there is and that's it.
It's been a while but I think you get two, a warhorse and a fast one, there's just no need to use anything other than the fast one. Ruins the experience.
As for the other stuff, i can't remember what's in it, I didn't play online but maybe you get gold. Some weapon skins or a shotgun...not sure, but none of them were exceptional or anything.
That isn't with the special but ultimate edition. The special edition only has single player perks.
Almost nothing. Don't bother.
I don't remember what stories they are, I think a bank robbery and hideout or something...There's a very story specific bank robbery so I doubt it is that one. There's numerous hideouts and stuff you can do on the side.
The game has a lot to do, I personally found it VERY boring to start with, it took me about 2 months to play 15 hours because I just couldn't get into it. Then suddenly it clicked and I couldn't put it down and I probably put 150-200 hours into it.
It's not the witcher 3 in content, but there's a lot. Maybe you can buy the deluxe stuff later? No clue, but if you think you're going to miss out a lot and be bothered the whole time you play it, get it, but I don't remember thinking at anytime "Oh, I'm glad I got it"...in fact, aside from the horse (which, I wish I didn't have as starting with the best meant I never needed to engage with collecting them, maybe you just want the best though) I didn't notice it.
Except the version I had was physical, so I got other stuff like a map and special case etc.
Edit - I want to say, you don't actually START with the stuff, you collect it later on. Still early on in how long the game lasts but it will take quite a few hours before you get it.
The store front says:
"The Red Dead Redemption 2 Special Edition delivers exclusive content for Story Mode including a Bank Robbery Mission & Gang Hideout, Dappled Black Thoroughbred, Talisman & Medallion Gameplay Bonuses, Gameplay Boosts, Cash Bonuses & Discounts, and the Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger Outfit, plus free access to Additional Weapons."
So it does include a horse. Though I think the ultimate has the Black Chestnut Thoroughbred which isn't in the special edition.
Ultimate edition:
The Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition delivers all of the Story Mode content from the Special Edition plus additional content for online including Bonus Outfits for your online Character, Rank Bonuses, Black Chestnut Thoroughbred and free access to the Survivor Camp Theme.
I got the best edition on the Ps4 and if I recall they called it a warhorse (and there were two) so don't know which is which in these versions.
The special edition only has Single player stuff, the ultimate edition includes the single player stuff and adds Online additions including the Black Chestnut Thoroughbred.
The PS4 edition had even more stuff, including a free Arabian Horse for online. (Sony paid Rockstar money to include more stuff in the PS4 edition than the other versions, they do this with a lot of multiplatform games because they want people to think there version is the best version)
That warhorse was a pre-order bonus (for PC as well) and isn't included in any version.
But you can get around without best early-game horse and bank robbery mission is very short, like 10 minutes. As for gang hideout, that I've either didn't encounter or it isnt a story but just a place on the map.
If you guys want to add more please be kindly to share your thoughts!
The only relevant exclusives are the skins, which are alright if you really want them, but not worth the money IMHO. The extra mission is too short and insignificant and the amulets are meh.
