Division 2 is just easier to target. For one most of the npcs are sitting in place behind cover. They not riding on horseback flying past you fooking you up. Also the Division 2 has your drone and turrets auto targetting and shooting stuff for you with one button.
On the other option I'm using direct input. I've heard raw reads directly from the USB port but wouldn't that bypass the mouse software? Not sure which one is the best option.
I also noticed that even when you are completely still and aiming from crouch there is some sway on the reticle. Shooting in this game is pretty hard imo.
i just feel that the division was more i dont know responsive. this game it feel sluggish.
Gaming mice use Raw Input.
And it's talking me a while to get used to aiming in this game too. It just feels off. I expected it to behave more like GTA V when you were on foot. But I guess if it wasn't a little sluggish and off feeling, there would be no reason to use Dead Eye. So whatever. I've been tempted to just go to a controller on this game just to simplify the controls.
Some people nail me with headshots the second I appear from across the map (in free aim). It is not Paint it Black, because that still takes a second to turn on and fire; these guys insta-kill me with headshots. Wondering what settings and hardware (and hardware software) they use.
I've tried all 3 mouse input settings, both with and without smoothing. I've tried many different sensitivity settings.
and some keybinds in this game are questionable.
Directinput is more for controllers and stuff.
Windows Input uses the Windows OS settings. Back in the day this was the only option and is the reason we would make sure mouse settings stayed at default in Windows with smoothing and acceleration turned off. Which is what I still do to this day because of habit and bias.
Basically, you want Raw Input as long as you have a decent mouse. It'll use your DPI settings for your mouse in game without interference from anything else Windows does. Then you set your sensitivity in game and you're good to go. And also, any form of mouse smoothing or acceleration is generally bad for gaming. It makes your mouse not behave consistently.
