Performance going downhill.
When I started playing this game days before official release I used to get great performance even on high graphics. Nowadays I'm getting an average of 30 fps on low graphics performance mode. It's just not comfortable to play at all anymore. Is this because of peoples massive bases? If so I wish there was a way to move to a different server (bringing my character and already built base)...
My build is Ryzen 5 7600, AMD RX 7600, 48GB RAM. Not top tier, but should be able to perform much better than this, especially considering it was just fine a couple months ago.

Unrelated to this thread but I saw you in a thread I was just reading in a different game and then came here to see you in this one. Small world. :black_legion:

12600k 32gb ram 5070ti 980 pro nvme game runs like a dream on high/ultra settings
I think that I might have solved my issues by following AI advice ( post # 13 ):

Yea get microstutters every now and then for basic stuff.
Cryonic was reading what you linked and nvidia defaults shader cache to 12gb. It used to be 5gb then 8gb. So no reason to change it from default. This game will use about 6gb. Highest i've seen any game and specifically an UE game was 9.4gb when set to unlimited over a year ago. hm just checked default and it's now 16gb. I guess they raised it again. Lot of increases in size over the last 2 years or so. AI is crap and outdated.

If you can't do dlss framegen then use fsr framegen and whatever upscaler you like. DLSS being the best visually followed by XeSS with FSR last. So FSR framegen and DLSS quailty or whatever is a great option. Or use dlss swapper and swap the XeSS files so XESS framegen becomes available. So here's me using XeSS framegen along with DLSS Quality.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3583201821

Note: only updated XeSS files for XESS Framegen. Using the original dlss files and not overriding any dlss settings in nvapp. And game performance/fps wise is about the same as it's always been for me. Now visually there are a couple things that look worse.
There's definetely something going on performance wise. I was getting 180 FPS and 400 FG (frames generated) pre patch.

Now my FPS is down to 120 with a TON of FPS drops occurring at random. My FG is down to 310 on average.

Not my system. Did 3Dmark (higher than my prior score) and have played other games without issue, or change. Something has gone screwy with the game.
Maybe you were using the render scale setting which we can't use any longer. Like I said it's the exact same for me.
tldr; 16 gigs of GPU RAM essential for Dune Awakening @ 1440x3440 gaming.

I am running Eight Gen Intel 4.3 GHz on a PCI 3.0 Aorus Board for the last 6 years; my GPU was 8 Gig RTX2070 on low settings to survive this NEW 2025 GAME.

All I did was upgrade to a Radeon 7800 XT with 16Gigs and on medium settings without Fake Frames I get 160+ FPS and I have not had a chance to tweak things yet.

RTX 5070 ti 12G is a good choice for this game but it is 30-40% more expensive than a 7800XT with 16 Gig.

In game I am between 9-12 Gigs of GPU RAM and my highest MOBO RAM is 24-28.

I hope this helps. Update your drivers.

Ryzen 7 7800x3d and RTX 5070 Ti. Noticeable degraded performance after that last patch. Something is up.
@maru
Running smooth on Ryzen 7 5800X
64gb Ram
RX6600
Graphics Options:
Windowed Fullscreen
1920x1080 Resolution
Upscaler High
Method FSR
Frame Gen FSR
Resolution scale 70, over-ride on upscaler to keep it from moving
FSQ Quality - Quality
Shadows Med
GI quality Med
Reflections high
View Distance Ultra
Last 4 options set at high
Hope this helps at least someone smooth things out, it's not HORRIBLE, but it's not great either, extremely playable tho.
When you change all that, empty your Adrenaline Shader Cache AND the one under windows clean up, restart, oughta be happy.

I play at 1920 x 1080. How is DLSS upscaling relevant to anything?

Showing me a static screenshot, just tells me that you don't understand the simplest concepts in graphics testing... you know concepts like highs, lows, average and 1% lows.

Like... what am I supposed to get out of a static screenshot exactly?

I hear that this is a real problem. We are all having problems.
So then WHAT is the REAL PROBLEM ? (Everybody comment pls)

1) Lack of understanding that GRAPHICS are not the most important factor in a great game ?
2) UNREAL 5 engine is the root cause of many problems with the last 2 yrs of games ?
3) HARDWARE has reached a real maximum and USER HAPPINESS with VISUALS was already good enough 10 yrs ago?
4) EVERY GREAT GAME has already been made unless you are a sophisticated game veteran for over 30 yrs ? That excludes all Triple AAA that have been Hollowed out.

YEAH this is a bad situation when literally the DEVS were handed the most influential Intellectual Property in Science Fiction in the last 75 yrs and we have all these problems.

I showed you several things to try and you also were complaining about 30fps on average. The static pic is just to show that xess framegen is possible and 1 choice. Am I psychic and supposed to know you run at 1080p? I gave you a scaling choice which is legit. Yes even people at 1080p scale although I would not. You didnd't complain about anything specifically except saying poor performance and 30fps average. Nothing about stutters or whatever else. Do you use an nvme. Have you tried adding the following to C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\DuneSandbox\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\GameUserSettings.ini to help with stutters and or loading issues.
[SystemSettings] r.D3D12.PSO.DiskCache=1 r.D3D12.PSO.DriverOptimizedDiskCache=1
But you don't really want help as you're just complaining about people trying to assist you so i'll leave you alone now in your misery.
I have the opposite effect, the game seem to be running better. A lot smoother than when I started playing about couple weeks ago. I even increased my resolution to match my monitor resolution when I discovered super ultrawide mode. I have a Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RX 6800XT.
