Dune: Awakening

Regarding Pre-order
I noticed they are giving 5 day early access to pre-order. Would this not effectively give that player-base a huge jump start, possibly affecting the world for players hopping in day one? I'm aware they are not allowing private servers, and this feels like a "pay-to-win" for a game that will focus heavily on PvP for any meaningful progression.

If it's forced PVP, I'll not be buying.
Been burned to many times before with PvP games, where the devs say they'll stay on top of the cheaters and it's always a lie.

I've had this game on wishlist and been in the discord for since 2022, but they never offered me a chance to test the game out in a beta, like they promised.

I did read that they'll be having different servers for those starting on launch day. Those on the head start on a different server. Do I trust what I've heard? not in the slightest.

The better question would be: Will it matter? For example, does it matter if I AKA Mr.Griffin plays or not? And if you can figure that out, you will know for sure whether you still want to play or not.

Always trust your gut, my friend

I hear the sound of the Hype Train....cho chooo....and its getting louder choo choooo...

There are PVP spots like farm spice and crashed ships ect.

This has been explained in great detail in several other posts, but some of you refuse to read.

Head Start servers have their own set of servers. Say (example) servers 1,2,3,4,5 and connect to the same shared deep desert say 6.

Servers without head start will then go up 5 days later. Say (example) servers 7,8,9,10 and will have a shared deep desert of 11.

In order to end up behind. You would have to voluntarily join a head start server.

wasn't deep desert supposed to link all servers? did they say they keep head start servers and normal servers apart in the deep desert?

The question really is the Deep Desert.
The Hagga Bassin will have fresh server on the official release date away from the early access players, but we will all share the deep desert

these guys will do play on extra isolated 5-days headstart servers with an own Deep Desert map .. if they want to play with or against other players 5 days later, these need to create a fresh new character from scratch on new and fresh hosted servers available for everyone ... !!

Gonna uy the game in 3-4 days. Can't wait. Rest is not really matter. Sorry.

end game is pvp focused yet the combat still looks very, very clunky. Gunna be cheering this one on from the sidelines until it looks worth playing.

TBH, janky combat can work if it's mass combat. For such a thing, simplicity is often best. What gets tested then isn't necessarily personal skill but teamwork. As survival games are inherently cooperative to an extent, since trying to do everything they ask of you solo is quite daunting, I'd be fine with the game if it greatly encourages and rewards group combat.

I think you're misinterpreting the question and statement. Being able to pay, to get a leg up is the nature of the conversation. Take care of yourself and be well!

Which is also something that can be said for people who cannot get the game at release because they don’t have the money, and have to wait for a sale or to get it as a gift for their birthday, they could say to you that you paid to have a leg up. And unlike those who get a start on May 20th, they won’t be able to say that at least they have fresh servers.
