No private servers, feedback.
Most of my friends played Conan Exiles together, and during that time we brought in others who played along with us.

Our server was hosted on a big dell rackmount, in a person's home who has fiber. Their server was a cluster that had 5 maps you could teleport between.

We had a hand picked set of mods, some were written by members of the group.

If this is not possible with D:A, most of us probably won't bother to play it. The stated reasons for not allowing private servers are dishonest. Whatever the real reasons are, one presumes involve microtransactions.

I know there are less vocal people than I am who won't speak up about this. I felt it necessary to say it.

Thanks for reading.

Personally, I'd rather have real development on a game rather than private severs with some QoL mods and mostly fluff that doesn't really add anything I'm interested in to keep playing the game. Either way, I don't see why they can't do both other than they don't want to invest in that.

Devs said Dune Awakening won't have microtranstactions or battle pass in their direct but...you know how things work
those streams are 100% untrustworthy.
after the nonsense they pulled on the conan streams refusing to answer questions about that in game store they added. yeah never trust what they say when live.

It's an MMO, don't like MMOs dont play MMO's, Don't expect world of warcraft or Guild Wars 2 to become a SP game anytime soon either.

To make this Private servers would take soo much effort and time and overall have to reduce the gameplay and quality for everyone and split the playerbase up.

Stop demanding devs change their entire game and genre to suit you and your 4 friends. I don;t go demanding COD or BF become a tactical RPG...

And that is how the game industry works nowadays....sadly

For what they said in their videos it isn't a MMO, a open world multiplayer survival game, yes, but not a MMO. Not because the maps are big can be called MMO.

And about WoW (it is a MMO)....if you create your own personal server it can be SP you just need time and effort

Playerbase will be already split in 40 player maps in Hagga Basin (PvE map) and 100 player in Deep Desert (PvP). I doubt it is too much effort when they already did a private server to show the game in their live video two days ago.

Hagga Basin "Shards" contain M!N!MUM 40 players, so about 100 players in each Shard

Deep Desert can contain ~1000 players at once, the PvP place where all Shards combine !!!

Private Servers are sort of in plans, possibly without the connection to the Deep Desert ...

Each Hagga Basin Shard, Funcom speaks about "Dimensions", is as big as the complete Conan Exiles map . . .

The Deep Desert map is about 9x bigger than the Conan Exiles map ... 9 times bigger !! Additionally the Deep Desert is fully wiped once a week and re-appears randomized

So up to 1000 players (1K !!) are at the Deep Desert map at once, by a complex server infrastructure setup, ... truly is a MMO at last . . .

One World, for example "EU Server #1", can host 1000 players

This world is splitted into 10 Dimensions / Shards, containing ~100 players each
10 x 100 = 1000

The one World owns a "one" Deep Desert map, where ALL dimensions connect and all 1000 players meet up "at once" to fight for end-game resources . . .

Players can NOT inter-connect from "EU Server #1", its one Deep Desert PvP Map and so its 10 Shards to "EU Server #2" or "US Server #1" etc, so each "Main World" with its one Deep Desert map and all of its 1000 players are isolated from other Main Worlds ..

... so these people who head start 5 days earlier join seperated extra worlds, for example "Early Access EU #1" and "Early Access US #1" etc . . . if these want to play on mentioned EU or US Server #1 "5 days later", they need to begin from scratch with a new character, on a new "World" . . .

You are here spreading completely wrong and misleading intel to others ...

My apologies then, I missunderstood what devs said in their video and thank you for informing us

I know about the shards, they will be 9 Haga Basins per world... I heard that they did Deep Desert as shards as well but if you say so. A bit low numbers but hey not bad, anyways 100 or 1000 doesn't matter, too much people that want to kill you.

Where did you hear about this? Are they going to make it like Conan Exiles (singleplayer)? If it is true....is bad they are going to cut content from you unless you play on official servers

I'd play the game on a private server even if there was no access to the deep desert. I think though only if they make a special version of the PvE map (I guess this is called Haga Basin) that adds in most of the stuff that you can only get in the deep desert.

I will probably never play this game on official servers unless they deeply discount the price. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like the official server experience, so no way am I paying $50 just to confirm that I don't like to play on official. Every other game that is a survival style, I've never liked officials. In a few cases where I tried it, it almost soured the whole game for me.

ummm cant the haggis base world not be treated like a sort of private server? can someone explain to me whats bad about it all beeing shared? i never really understood the need of being completely capsulated since i do enjoy meeting ppl and make friends or enemies... from what i have gathered so far is that pvp is pretty much optional so no need to be scared of beeing robed or having ur base destroyed and such. So play and build in the same haggis world as ur friends and family and if you feel like it venture out in the deep desert as a spec ops group and hide and get splice or take it by brute force! and if u wanna chill just go back to your haggis world. Sounds pretty good to me. Theres no need for private isolated servers then.
Unless like someone mentioned you want to have 500% gathering bla bla bla and not have to grind to get your stuff which in my eyes is always part of a game. tweaking the game and making it easy often in my opinion defeats the point of playing games at all. i think the same about cheating too. why play a game if you cheat? where is the fun in that? cheating only proofs that you r scared and dont have trust in your abilities. Ganking up on noobs is pretty much the same. where is the satisfaction in that? thats like an adult beating up a kid! theres no honor in that and it doesnt take skill.

but maybe thats just me? i donnu. weird ppl haha anyway be good out there. im getting excited since i used to play the game back in 96 the dune one which was like command & Conquer.

Some people just hate online games with any rando they don't know. They like only their bubble of whitelisted friends. Others want private servers so that they "own" the game and it isn't dependent on the studio to keep servers up. Others still, promote private servers so they can be modders of the game.

Not exactly a private server but a mini public server....you know there are PvP zones in Hagga Basin and those are the only way to get resources for vehicles and armor/weapons in the PvE map.
Why private server or singleplayer? Personally, I can't talk for the rest, I prefer to stay away from the toxicity. I love this type of games and want to enjoy, explore, settle where I want and not having a "genius" looking for me while I'm fighting NPCs just because it is the way they enjoy the game, you know, the consent meme, there is somebody you forgot to ask.

If you want to know this enriching and beautiful online experience, go play Mortal Online, you will enjoy as new player with a club as weapon how welcoming they are, they will send the 10+ plate armoured committee with lances and two-handed swords to say hi again and again and again and again....

Wait...Dune II? That game was great!!

believe me OP your opinion is shared by the majority of people who were interested in this game.

anyone against private servers is secretly a ganker in disguise, scared they will not have easy targets to kill.

I play many pvp mmos and survival games and I never gank people first. I just don't want the game to be watered down and split up and become somethings it's not meant to be for people wanting private servers for cheating and 500x gather rate. For all purposes this is an mmo, like the devs have said before and like it's listed on steam Mmo.

i see peple quoting this, but base raiding is only available on the deep desert, do your research about the game before figuring ♥♥♥♥ out of your ass. you can build and secure your base in the hagga basin and no one will be able to destroy it.

True, there is "no base raid" in the PvE map, griefer can still kill you on "dungeons" while trying to get some materials but your base is safe if you pay taxes (the bigger the base, more taxes to pay) and power up the shield otherwise players can attack it and the storms will damage it.

Also, Deep desert will have wipes from time to time in form of storms so nothing will stay the same (it change the map as well for what they said) so who in their senses will buy something there?

Hey netrunner

Question. the Population for Hagga Bassin. All the info I have found says 40 people Max for Permanent players (Players that can put down a land claim). More players can come in to help but those can't lay down land claims. Where did you find out the info for that.

I have seen 2 different statements from 70 people to 100 people but nothing that changes the land claim. Also where did you get the number 100 from? =)
