Dune: Awakening

So, this dude in the trailer doesn't have a tan.
I guess FUNCOM is going to sell all the players sunscreen or something.:spicecrystal:

No stillsuit either. Would be dead in hours.

Um, he is wearing a stilsuit in the trailer.
He's got the nose filter style tube from the old movie (which isn't correct really as you are supposed to breath IN thru your nose and Out via the mouth with your facemask on in the desert, so the mouth baffle can catch the moisture. The nose part was supposed to be filter plugs to stop dust getting up your nose....but movies don't like face masks cause you can't see famous folks faces XD)
You can even see the catchpocket areas on the chest, and a hybrid codpiece that's half old film and half new film.
And Fremen (contrary to the new movie) don't have to be dark skinned. They spent their days asleep and their nights awake to avoid the desert sun (and the Harkonnen) until after Paul takes over as Emperor. In fact the only Fremen I remember being described with dark skin in the original Dune book, are Harah and the Shadout Mapes.

Funcom probably realised they need to pander to all the basement gamers who want to project on him.

They did grow to be very big, here's some info from the Dune encyclopedia.

"Sandworms grow to hundreds of meters in length, with specimens observed over 400 metres (1,300 ft) long and 40 metres (130 ft) in diameter, although Paul becomes a sandrider by summoning a worm that "appeared to be" around half a league (1.5 miles (2.4 km)) or more in length."

I agree, if the Giant Worms are not LITERALLY a cornerstone of this game, then it will be a failure.

The dev's Nukklear funcom hired are known for driving games. So intent is there for worms/thopters to be a quality experience..maybe? :carrionmouth:

Depends on how long he's been there, if it's the Atreides, then no tan would make sense, if it's just after his "escape."

OP must have had a really slow day.

Well Caladan where the atreidies are from is more water than earth is, and fishermen normally have a tan.
