Respawn may not be "worth a billion dollars"...
But Apex has pulled in a billion by now. EA even noted the amount track last year.
"Commenting on the growth of the multiplayer game, EA COO and CFO Blake Jorgensen says it should be worth a billion dollars by March 2021 (ta, Gamasutra). “Apex Legends is on track to become our latest billion-dollar franchise by the end of the fiscal year,” Jorgensen said."
Also their parent company, EA, pulled in 5.5bn in profit last year. So stop acting like money is some sort of issue here. It's a lack of financial/team support from EA siphoning the profits while Respawn is then prioritized with making more profit and not given the tools, time, or team, to fix all the actual issues they are having.
