Running at 144 fps but not feeling smooth
Just upgrade my PC into a beast one, running at 144 fps with no drop, I got g-sync, v-sync, try all the different fix, but it all doesn't help, funny thing it doesn't happen on Firing range, and when i play on the controller is smooth af, doesn't happen any micro stutter.
I try everything on changing mouse, polling rate, plug in mouse(i use wireless mouse) but seem like doesn't help at all, try dx 12 still not working, or disable g-sync v-sync.
Why are this game like this ?

Turn off v-sync. You don't need that if you're running g-sync.

Make sure you have Windows running the right resolution and refresh rate.

Right click on your desktop, click on Display Settings, scroll to the bottom to Advanced Display Settings, and make sure you have the right refresh rate for your monitor.

Thanks for you advice, I turn v-sync off, it not buttery smooth but more enjoyable than the previous status. Do wish it went a little smoothness tho.
Usually most games I turn both v-sync and g-sync on, this issue only happen in Apex Legend.

Tutorial to "fix" this using RTSS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xoUa_6DB98&t=326s

I wouldn't bother, though... I had the same issue... Tried everything (including a full PC reset and fresh OS install) and nothing worked. I ended up building a whole new PC and it miraculously fixed the problem.

Just stop playing Apex until they fix it. That game has so many issues being ignored right now, and it doesn't seem like they have intentions of fixing them.

Idk if it's a staffing issue or if they're just placing all their manpower on the monetization aspects of the game, but player feedback seems to go completely ignored.

I heard that someone had the same issue, switched from AMD to Intel and it fixed itself.

If u have such a super PC now, why not unlock the FPS and see where it gets you.

At what polling rate is your Mouse set to?

Is it on 144hz?

I was setting 1000hz, but changing lower doesn't help at some point it make it worse

turn ambient occlusion off it really hinders performance even to high spec pcs. I would know, because I went from 60 fps with LOW ambient occlusion on to 120 (because my pc is a lower end prebuilt from like 2020)

Hey there, the best way to troubleshoot is to use the MSI afterburner software along side with RTSS, to monitor your frametimes, cpu and gpu usage, ram usage, their temperatures and usage just like how benchmarkers do. And most importantly the frametime graph.

Even if you average 144, your %10 and %1 lows could be lower and the FPS number isnt the only determining factor, if its smooth or not, as written in the post above it is your frametimes. There are youtube vidoes on how to set the software to see the frametime graph if something is problematic.

For the fix route, i would start with reinstalling Apex, trying out different games and then ensuring your chipset/gpu/audio/lan drivers are up to date along with windows updates, and if all else fails go for a clean install. If nothing else works reinstall windows and try again. And your last bet would be to check if there is a hardware issue but it is very unlikely.

Just out of the blue, do you have a razer basilisk hyperspeedx wireless or whatever the ♥♥♥♥, cuz literally exclusively with that mouse i get this weird unsmoothness even with LOCKED at a solid 144 hz with my vid config set up for frame times, the way to fix this was to literally just close the razer ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ program after i had my macros/ settings set up for the onboard memory it has(thank god it does) razer literally only keeps me with them for the lighting profiles for apex and then i have to TURN IT OFF to use the mouse effectively
