demotion protection is just that- protection from a demotion.
If you strike out and go negative 3x you go back a rank.
I THINK you would still earn Diamond rewards cause that's where you peaked, evne if you don't finish there- but knowing respawn they either changed that recently or will struggle to keep their word and just give you the rewards for wherever you left off.. dont get demoted. if you think you might- just don't queue lmao.
