Caustic is useless now

I could understand caustic getting a small nerf, but not the massive nerf he got. Gas is completely useless now, it's not even a deterrent. I've had a dozen games today where squads just push right past my gas because they can see through it just fine and it deals no meaningful damage.

If the gas doesn't deal meaningful damage then there's very little left to deter players from just tanking the damage and getting a movement penalty.

I agree with you, but the devs said they would monitor his condition. I hope they reverse or at least lessen some of the nerfs. I hope we can get out gas daddy back on his feet soon.

yeah I think he at least needs an increasing damage buff like he had before the nerf, just maybe not so much damage, either that or let the whole team benefit from his nox vision.

it should be a small nerf except the part that respawn also shadow nerf him too. beside from 5 dmg per tick (which is really bad because laggy server make random no dmg per tick). now there is next to zero slow effect when get hit by gas. worse, now you can see through it except your settings went wrong. in another word, tactic and ult of caustic now gone. these problems were reported at community board but respawn act like...........who care we just want to get rid of him from meta. the question is who is next ? what can confirmed right now is horizon for sure in next season. it seem they will clearly want to get rid of her from meta too. by put heavy nerf on her tactic (and possible her ult too). who know ? in next season horizon tactic kit may no longer let's her hover on it any more (no more safety heal and high ground shooting). when her ult aoe may be get smaller. why ? because i bet the next legend who will come in season 9 that made to get quick money from Japanese fans (player base there seem big enough to make a big money from) will be OP AF for sure.

I don't think Caustic's gas should be *too* lethal but it should have extreme debuffs and penalties for entering it, and they removed literally all debuffs for entering the smoke, you still move at full speed in his gas and that is my main problem with the caustic gas nerf, it is literally pointless to move through it

I don't play Caustic but the nerff is huge, you can stay on the gas now and don't worry about it.

I still play him time to time. He is kinda weak but honestly it is not that bad. His skills is still has its use, it slows down pushes. They should just give back the blind after get hit by the gas. Five damage per tick is fine. We just need the trap to be more of utility than damage.

Honestly I'd be fine with that too but right now it's not even a deterrent, I'm surprised respawn did such a huge nerf instead of incremental changes. A small damage reduction I could see but the increasing damage rate the longer you're in the gas is what made it a deterrent because people knew that if you couldn't get out fast enough you where going to take a lot of damage. Now people waltz through it like it's not even there

Nerfing good legends doesn't make bad legends better.

He's not completely balanced yet... If you want to do some damage then shoot them and use grenades while they are inside caustic fart gas instead of camping and killing people with caustic gas, That's the real skills and fun...

i still see caustics only camping like crazy and spamming their farts. there is no difference at all, but hey, pro tipp - how about getting skill and shoot ppl? since this is a.... first person shooter.
