It is not a skill issue, it's a cheating issue.
The aim "assist" does most of the work for you. It's basically like a badly configured aimbot that still helps in a lot of situations.
Playing MnK puts you at a disadvantage, but at least you're not a scrub.
I have the utmost respect for MnK players, and I will never use a roller to play an FPS in my life.
Now, don't get me wrong, for games like Binding of Isaac, roller is miles better, it's almost mandatory. But it's a single player game, and it's top down, nothing to do with Apex at all.
Coupled to that the fact that there are some hardware cheats that are basically undetectable used by roller players, and you have a game that could be extremely skillful, but is limited by this input type ruining lobbies.
Someone who plays only during the weekends on roller can be as good as someone who dedicates a lot of time playing on MnK, simply because of the aim assist.
Remove aim assist, and suddenly the game is completely unplayable on roller.
Roller players know this of course, but they are in severe denial.
Edit: In games with no aim assist, using a roller is impossible pretty much.
If you take TF2, NOBODY, absolutely nobody, plays using a roller, it's all MnK.
Granted, TF2 has some BS sprinkled in, like random crits, but at least you know you've been killed by someone using the normal input type.
It is not enough because of Cronus and etc.
By the way they are ANGRY with US instead of ROLLER PRODUCERS. For example, what is the use of (newly added as a new feature) feedback action of a controller, pls you, controller users, pls tell us! Can you take a kill with it or can you move like a human or still move like a robot?
And then you across with a m&k player in a crossplay and ask "do you know how hard to play a fps with a controller?" and my answer is "Yes, I know and why do you not ask this question to controller producers instead of me?"
