Apex Legends Won’t Launch After Update (Easy Anti-Cheat Closes

Hi everyone,

After the recent update, I can't launch Apex Legends. The Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) starts, but after a few seconds, it closes automatically, and the game does not open. Steam just shows the Play button again.

My System Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i3-3240
RAM: 8GB
GPU: NVIDIA GT 710 2GB
OS: Windows 10
Platform: Steam
What I Have Tried So Far:
✅ Verified game files on Steam
✅ Reinstalled Easy Anti-Cheat (but when I run EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe, only a command prompt flashes and closes)
✅ Ran both Apex and EAC as Administrator
✅ Updated my GPU drivers (latest version: 475.14)
✅ Launched the game with -dx11 and -dx12 in Launch Options (didn’t work)
✅ Unplugged all USB devices (I don’t use a controller)
✅ Performed a Clean Boot

I also noticed that before this update, when I tried running Apex with DX12, I had the same issue (EAC closing and the game not launching). Could it be that the game is now forcing DX12 and not allowing DX11?

Does anyone have a solution or experiencing the same issue? Any help is appreciated!

I am having the same issue. I havent been able to play in 2 weeks. Did u find a solution? I have tried everything I can find online.

No, I haven’t found a solution. I even contacted EA support, but it didn’t help. I’ve given up on it for now, but I’m still waiting here in case someone finds a fix so I can get back to playing.

I had such a problem, it only helped to restore Windows to factory settings and clean all the disks.
This is the second time I've made this mistake, and I don't want to do it again.

(Anticheat pointed on Program Files\Ea Games\Apex\paks\Win64\ui(01).dll Deleted the damn file, everything worked.)
Try this, I hope it works, I haven't tested it myself yet.

Have you ever installed any of those things? Even if you are not longer using that stuff there might be files on your disk somewhere that prevent the game from starting!
