sh_challenges.gnut #5628 error

So I had EA Desktop installed and was trying to update Apex the other day, and it just wasn't finishing the update and then the download would disappear from the manager and I couldn't play.

I uninstalled EA Desktop and used Origin instead, but had the same problem with the update where it was just "Finalizing" constantly.

I uninstalled and reinstalled both Origin and Apex and it let me update and open the game, but then i get an error everytime I click play.

The error reads, "There was a problem processing game logic. Please try again. sh_challenges.gnut #5628 [UI] Array index -1 is out of range (array size 0)"

I cannot find anyone else who has the same exact error code (the numbers, specifically) and I made a reddit post on r/apexlegends to try to get help, and someone said to just use steam.

So I reinstalled via Steam, launched the game just fine, and which I click to play, I get the exact same error code and can't play.

There has to be something wrong with my account seeing as I did two installs today. a repair on Origin, and restarted my computer.

I was trying to get back into Apex but I can't play - any help would be appreciated.

Trying to play today, I downloaded the update and I am having the same error. Can't get into the game at all. I even have to force close it to try again.

I verified the files. Verifying the files didn't work on Origin but it did work on Steam for some reason. Try that, lmk if it helps.
