(SOLVED) Chances Of Getting Ban Appealed?

What’re the chances of getting your Apex account unbanned if it was banned because of a hacker on your account saying hate speech?

I play on and off just with having a job and all that, but about a month ago I hop on to check out the skins, and when I randomly switch to ranked, my game crashes. I boot Apex back up and my rank when from bronze 2 to gold 4. I assume my account got hacked and there was an issue with syncing the hacker’s rank and my rank, so it just crashed.

At first I assumed it bugged out and was simply a visual bug, but no, I was actually playing in gold comp when I queued up. I died right away because I suck at Apex, and then I had to get off. I changed my EA password in case my credentials were leaked as well.

I ended up playing on and off again every so often, but today, I got banned. I go on the EA website and check if I had any case notifications. Apparently, I had a case that closed last month over hate speech. I think the hacker got my account info, said some hateful things, and then got me banned. And when trying to appeal it, he got denied.

I submitted my own case on the EA website explaining everything I’ve said here, but I’m scared if it’ll ever be investigated or resolved. Do you guys have any advice or similar experiences?

My account credentials were figured out, and a hacker was using my Apex Legends to use cheats and even get in trouble over hate speech. What I ended up doing was submitting a ticket to the EA website. Below the ticket option is a way of speaking to an EA employee (Although they say it does not speed up the process, the issue can be taken higher up much faster). I explained everything to the employee, and used club screenshots to show that whoever was on my account played on days where I wasn't logged in. His language was also set to Chinese, making the club chat show English for when I played, and Chinese for when he played, helping my case even more. I also looked at when devices were signed into my account on the EA website and saw all of them were cleared, meaning the hacker tried to scrap away the evidence that he was on my account once he got it banned. They can see everything on their end though, and saw he removed his PC and browser logins. Lastly, I showed how my stats changed. I'm not sure if this helped, because saying your stats changed could still mean you're lying and trying to deny you actually hacked to get those stats, but I still included it. They ended up letting me keep my new rank the hacker gave me, which is odd but oh well.
They don't send you an email saying they unbanned your account, but it'll say that they reset your password and to log back in and enable all safety features. After that, you should be able to play Apex again. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or comment on this thread.

This excuse that "someone else was using my account" will never be accepted. It is your responsibility to take all measure necessary to prevent people from going on your account. Be that locking your PC to prevent your siblings or others from using your account, getting 2FA to prevent unauthorized access. 2FA has been around for years, they will not longer accept "I did not know".

So I doubt you will get any chances of appealing a ban. Also, you are not the only one to claim someone else was using their account so I doubt they will even take the time to finish reading your appeal.

99% if you truly got hacked. send a ticket though ea support, it might take a while but my account was banned for cheating and hatespeech, took them 2 weeks to respond and got my account unbanned soon after.

No it is not. Plenty of people all over reddit claiming they were hacked for EA support and they did nothing. They even post the emails and chat they had with EA and they do nothing. It is not false, feel free to do research before saying I am false. Liar.

Easy... There's more if you need convincing. Also and these are not my own words, but of the few people who they unbanned, were players that spend money on the game and EA saw it as profit. And in addition each account can only get one appeal, so if the appeal is declined, you cannot appeal it again, nor if you get banned again.


For OP, this dude got unbanned in 3 weeks. But I only found this one, so if you are as lucky as him, then 3 weeks is your answer.

Hey! This literally just happened to me. I didn't play the game for a couple of weeks and once I returned I was banned. I also noticed missing crafting shards and my Octane had 200 kills and a 20 kill badge(I don't use Octane that often). Sent my case explaining everything that happened and got resolved in 3 days I think. Asked me to reset my password and now I'm back to playing!

I do have 2FA, but with a phone number and email, it can still easily be bypassed. Just unfortunate I guess. I set up the app authenticator instead, so hopefully situations like this will be avoided.
I'm aware many people have been left in the shadows, and I'm sure the same case will happen with me, but at least some people have been getting the help they need.

I'm aware many people have been left in the shadows, and I'm sure the same case will happen with me, but at least some people have been getting the help they need.

Dude, just get the Authenticator, it is by far the most convenient and safest way to do it.
And do not get stuff like that sent to your email, it will make it Hell to change any account from anyone if you tell them your email has been compromised.

I had access to an old email account and some places do not even let you change your email, despite being able to prove it is your account. I think Square Enix is one of those sites, but according to them it is security which in 2021 I think is dumb, but hey, some people cannot adapt.

Yeah I never really play ranked at all, so I was surprised to see I'm in gold with 300+ kills in just a month. Thanks for the response, and glad it worked out for you! Hoping for the same treatment.

I went to the security tab, but I'm confused as to why I only have one web browser device logged, but not my PC or anything else. I confirmed it's the right account by logging in through Steam.

Quick update of the situation right now. I decided to do a live chat with an EA employee, and that helped speed up the process. Apparently the guy I chatted with will be taking it to the terms of services team with a response in 3-5 business days.

Additionally, I found some proof that somebody from another location was using my account. I'm in a club, and each time the hacker won a game, it displayed it in Chinese. I thought this was a bug, but it all makes sense now.

Dude, just get the Authenticator, it is by far the most convenient and safest way to do it.

I did set up the authenticator, that's literally what I responded with. You were just assuming I did not have 2FA when I actually did the entire time.
