Autoselecting backup legend?

Did respawn update it so it goes to a default backup if your selected legend is taken? Every time I'm not paying attention and someone picks my main, it selects Lifeline, which was an old main of mine. Not complaining, just curious

Pay attention during legend selection. You are supposed to be present, and in fact, you should put the cursor over the legend you want to play, so that those picking before you can adjust their choice accordingly.

As an example, I think a squad should have a 'revive specialist' in it, and I'm willing to do that. But if you are willing to play Mirage, I will pick Loba, because Mirage is slightly better for reviving than Lifeline. But if you don't let me know that you want to be Mirage, I will pick Lifeline -- and now we have two revivers unnecessarily, instead of having Loba for easier spotting of high quality loot.

If Respawn gave in to your request, the problem would get WORSE -- even more players would use the Legend selection as a break to go to the bathroom, instead of using those 15-20 seconds to communicate with the team and building the best squad possible.

I didn't make any request. I just made an observation and asked a question about getting the same legend auto-selected if mine was chosen
