Apex Legends 2025 (ranked)? is it still worth playing?

Thinking of coming back to play as it looks fun

I enjoy ranking up but saw a lot of stuff on yt saying the rank matchmaking isnt the greatest at the moment, like its not skill based anymore, the game is just optimised to keep people playing rather than actually getting to their skill bracket

heard player based are also hitting all time lows on a regular basis

what do u think? have i read into this wrong?

It's just bad.. that's it.

I.e., Diamond III rank, you climb solo, deal ~1k damage and make at least 1 kill, getting top 6 at the end with yor 2 randoms, 0 kills and 0-200 damage each. And guess what? Right, you'll get -10 RP. At this point it's harder to play solo as it was earlier w/o a full stack team and proper comms, including the fact that you'll fight against Master/Predator stacks right on the Platinum+ rank.

Also I didn't get this brilliant idea to place Silver/Gold rank dudes at Platinum and Diamond ranks, that makes no sense.

damn that sucks, im a frequent solo player as well, and planning to solo queue ranks. diamond was prob the furthest ive reached as it got really grindy there and got no time to be as sweaty so i left. bit of a shame they've kept that format, was hoping for it to be more solo friendly.

thats not great either, ideally dont want to be against masters/pred until at least diamond 3 or 2 (depending on how good the player base now is). plat iirc was a place for somewhat skilled players but aren't as sweaty, then it get sweaty in diamond.. silver/gold shouldnt even be near that bracket at all.

The player base has dropped significantly, and all ranks above mid (from Platinum IV) have become even more mixed up. Add to that the very strange changes to the legends themselves, and you get the stuffing called "ranked games".

If you want to climb solo, pay more attention to the proper tactics, because from Diamond IV you need 3+ kills and top 5 placement to get a few RP to slowly move on. It's sweaty and boring at this point, especially if you have a one/two low-skilled dudes in your team.

It feels like the devs don't play the game they support. A lot of weird changes no one asked for + really unfair MM system.

Past platinum every teammate either hides until top 5 and lets you die, or they full send before top 10 and get killed. No in between.
