Ah man, I have the exact same issue every single time I start the game. However sadly I didn't find any solution until now. Still search for something...

Same here. In addition to this, there are short freezes in the main menu. No idea what's wrong.

Depending on software you use, your shader cache could be erased each time you shutdown your PC.

Cache and Shader Cache are two different things.

I shutdown my PC with CCleaner and there is an option to delete Shader Cache, this is good once a month or so, but perhaps another application does this for you, AV, File Manager, etc...

Then I'm clueless.
And it happens everytime you run the game or everytime you run your game for the first time that day? Do you shutdown your PC or leave it on, perhaps use sleep/hibernation?
akahatokii 23 AGO 2022 a las 3:05 a. m.
a full shutdown, hibernate introduces problems

it happens most of the times i open the game, many times a day, i shutdown my pc every night

I've aways used geforce experience to update my drivers, never used beta versions

So without turning your PC off or putting it into standby, your game will usually compile shaders at launch? That's weird, but then you can perhaps try to disable your Anti-Virus for the directories which Apex uses. I believe there might be one in "roaming" too where the cached files might be. It seems as though when the files are created they cannot be removed because your game is using them, but when you stop playing MAYBE your AV delets them. Which is while it must recompile it all the time again.

Normally the point of caching is to speed it up the 2nd time you launch whatever is cached, therefore it kind of defeats the purpose for these files to always be removed. And since it happens throughout the day without shutting down your PC (although this should not be the case either) something is removing these files. It must be some sort of software.

Another weird idea could be that the game does not have permission to write these files so it writes it temporarily somewhere and then removes it, however in this case it would recompile shaders every single time.

I would run through all the applications you have installed on your computer, regardless what you think of them and research what their motives are. Some software that promises better performance can clear cache automatically, AV, and other management tools could also do stuff like this.

never used any AV, not even windows firewall, or any performance related sowftare.
apex is installed on the same drive as windows, i've never changed any file in apex or used any cfg
idk if nvidia could delete my cache and idk how to check if it is
