Some people still got destroyed but they didn't care as much because they weren't targeted by someone abusing the system to specifically prey on the lower skill people. At this point, I think smurfing is the same as griefing and almost bullying. You prey on weaker people than you to ruin their day, there's no big difference.
But nobody really cares about the issue so it will never go away.
Usually after one week the split gets balanced and the top 1% gets back to pred/master so don't blame them for your poor decissions ingame. I find hard to belive that you can't get some decent teams in gold tbh. Right now ranked is stable with the best players at top. Maybe you should improve yourself before criticizing others.
I don't play too much ranked without my friends, but solo queueing to plat is easy, and it's not hard to get more kills and damage than both your gold mates combined honestly, it happens quite a bit.
No, it doesn't, because current ranked system is disfunctional. I meet people with 1k+ kills with bronze 4- bronze 2 on a regular basis, because climbing the ranks is the same for everyone, no matter what level you achieved last time, which is beyond stupid.
Starcraft 2, also a free game, has a much better rank system, where even during a season re-set you get back more or less close to your real rank after a couple of placement matches. In apex, rank is a joke, it basically relates more with how much you play rank vs how good you are. So someone can mostly play unranked, get a lot of experience, then jump to ranked to stomp some real bronze\silver people.
How bout a simple " what do you mean " ? But noooo, " you're just bottom tier " . " Scrub " .
Sorry if that came off as " being better than you all " thing. I just said a very simple thing.
Instead of having problems of people smurfing, I get problem where the matchmacking keeps putting me with new players. Rank is another whole bag of worms.
Here's a recap yea,
I mean at this point I'd rather have smurfs than literal new players in the team because they tell you how SBMM works and bla bla bla. Here I don't see it working as they explained it.
Back to the argument earlier,
When people just love going around claiming that they're better or assuming others being trash is why I would go put my KD and rank out there. It's so I can back my claim. Saying " ♥♥♥♥ off " is just to say stop bothering me about it.
Mind you, I don't even think diamond is a good rank at all. There are way more people that play better in plat or gold.
With how the RP system works, given enough time, even a weak player can get into diamond, but not with actual skill to back that rank. You'd be surprised how many masters I've met that cannot even hold their own weight.
Now maybe you have a different definition of what a new player is, but it's a fact that new people start at the bottom. This isn't like other games were you have placements that place you somewhere other than bottom
