How to claim the Ash Free Unlock Bundle from Epic Games on Steam
Here's how to claim the Ash Free Unlock Bundle from Epic Games on Steam without downloading the game twice.

1. Start downloading the game from Epic, which takes you to the EA launcher. When you click install it will show you where the game is being saved in file explorer. For me, this was under C:\Program Files\EA Games\Apex. Go to this folder, then cancel the download but leave the folder open.
2. On the Steam library page for Apex, click the gear icon on the right side of the screen, (Across from the play button right under the banner) hover over mange, then click on browse local files. You should see nine folders: audio, bin, cfg, EasyAntiCheat, LiveAPI, materials, media, paks, and r2. Copy all of these folders and paste them into the folder from step 1.
3. Go back to the EA launcher and click download. After a moment, the installer will recognize that the game files are already downloaded and will breeze through the 73gb loading screen. It will then download the remaining 300mb or so needed to launch.
4. Launch the game from Epic Games. Ash and the Burning Chrome skin were in my legend locker upon login.

Thank you for this guide. My question is does this unlock show up when you launch from steam or only epic?
I am experiencing it only showing up when launching from epic and I dont want 2 installs taking up precious NVME space.

You'll need to launch the game from Epic to initially receive the bundle. Once you have the bundle, you'll be able to use it's contents on any platform that is linked to the same EA account you used when launching from Epic.
Let me know if this helps.
