I don’t know where you are playing but speaking of USA and Europe, this is BS
Characters move very fast plus have a lot of health and shields leading to a high TTK.
Even if you down someone, it doesn’t count if your team dies and he is revived leading to very few kills per match compared to other FPS.
Additionally, of course, bullet drop exists
Default Sniper loadout from Team Fortress 2 looks similar to Kraber + some automatic rifle?
One of the biggest things I've done was adjust my sensitivity on the mouse and adjust ADS settings per zoom. I played around with controller for a bit, did pretty well but not consistently then went back to mouse and got a bit better.
I do warm ups in the firing range typically if it's my first log in of the day. Most of my game time after 100 hours has been Arena, which I've been using to focus on close battles, movement under fire, and aiming under stress.
When I start playing like trash I take a break otherwise I just go on this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play streak.
I've uninstalled the game about 3 times now. Recently at 125ish hours is when I actually noticed my mobility has gotten better. You should look up this video from Rag Tagg:

Lastly, I'd note that you should take each Apex Legends videos and tips with a grain of salt. Try what you think will work for you, then constantly test and adjust. Try different guns, change your sensitivity, try different legends, play styles. If you don't wind up playing well with some of the legends you try, you'll at least know enough to get an understanding of the different play styles and techniques players will use when using certain legends.
I'll have good runs and then out of nowhere I'll play like trash. Just take baby steps. Personally I've gotten over the pure frustration of being 100% garbage and now there are some points where I execute really well and have good games. So now I'm only 90% garbage :D.
