They are 2-4% of the population AT MOST. Once you see more than that represented in a game, you know something is statistically off. Maybe it's the devs who shoehorn all types of letters into their characters that makes it this way.. I don't know.

How do you know they are gay? Because of the badge? Some of my Friends just put on the Badge for fun or for trolling. We got some really hilarious toxic responses in CS out of some players. Probably also throws some people off, when they are playing against a "gay" dude and losing :D

Sounds pretty stupid to me. If you know something is a volatile topic of discussion, why would you put it in people's faces like that?

Exactly. You won't imagine how some people get seriously triggered just by seeing an LGBT flag and throw around insults like crazy.

Edit: I mean, it was not even an LGBT flag, it was a PACE flag as profile picture when we got those reactions in CS.

Yeah on a more serious note: Perhaps some of the devs, artists etc. want to see more representation of their (or their friend's or family's) ideas, backgrounds etc. in their game. I think I read something like the voice actor of Gibby was happy to see a Character similar to him in a video game (or something like that).
