they would also have to start coming out against the woke bs. people are kinda just done with the woke bs and they dont really care what you think anymore. stop asian hate the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ chat bans which for the us is anti first amendment which is an increasingly more serious problem. you can just look at hollywood and understand how done with woke bs people are and unlike with a movie where you sit there and watch you have to actually do things with video games so if the one which requires no effort i being abandoned the one which needs more effort for sure will be abandoned.
also covid. people dont have to like it but people where set back years when it comes to money because of trash policy around the world so people in general have less money for things like video games even more so with one as greedy as ea or as trash as blizzard/activison you can wait for a steam sale and get several indie games that work for like 30-40 bucks. most of it is cost benfit analysis and the only way live service games dont die as is if they start being worth playing and to be worth playing you cant be banning people for stupid stuff while ignoring hackers and cheaters like most triple a does.
Hacking is at an all time high, no new content, the servers are horrible, they keep trying to make the gameplay faster and faster while punishing defensive play, everything has to be a political statement, the leader of the ban team is a total arrogant joke.
Lest I forget I was once banned from the apex forums for referring to catalyst as "This dude looks like an interesting legend."
Otherwise closing the game
I came back for winter express, but otherwise this game has lost that spark which made it special.
But clearly their goal is to satisfy a guideline from a ridiculous organisation called the ESG.
Here are some hard facts. The game is now 4 years old and its actually running on a decade old engine that's been marginally updated so this game can run on it.
The servers are 20hz tik rate. So long as it remains that way, we will NEVER get fixes for no reg, server lag, crashes and other server side issues like latency.
15 seasons in and everything is basically the same.
Seeing how the game is struggling on a decade old engine, the graphics are indeed starting to look aged and washed out, while newer games are pushing far more polished and smooth looking visuals at much better performance.
Cross progression.
It will never happen. It's already been tweeted by a former Respawn dev overseas, that it was technically impossible without breaking a bunch of sh-t. Two weeks later, the dev resigned from Respawn.
Maybe someone here knows what I'm referring to.
The current match making system. Another dev on Twitter said that an update would be released with this Winter event (the 6th) to better the experience of matchmaking, stating it was going to be "something else", as in not SBMM or whatever. This was also featured on a couple of Youtube channels that discussed Apex's match making problems and we were all excited about it.
It never happened. Match making is still dog water today. There was nothing in the patch notes.
Twitch streams have also fallen low. Going so far deep at around 20k viewership and around 49k-54k at peak. (Major tourneys not included).
This game use to have way over 80k to over 100k viewers all around the clock because it was a global sensation. I believe it started dipping at season 13, as that's when various streamers left Apex behind.
Even itZTimmy hardly plays Apex now. He actually said the game was dying. Lulu quit permanently. Everyone else cut their Apex streams down as well, to just a few hours. (healthy for them I'd say) while others became variety streamers instead.
It's just not looking good anymore and typically, a game doesn't get better as it ages. It gets lost in obscurity. EA/Respawn raked in around 3 billion dollars. It's entirely in their hands and they don't seem to want to do certain things that will cut into their budget...Even if it means making the game a really great experience.
This isn't about "favorite streamers" per se and calling them meaningless simpletons is pretty ironic of you. :p
I guess you're not understanding the role streamers play when they all come together and essentially advertise a game on a daily basis, bringing more enthusiasm to it which also drives a player base's growth. That's the point I was making. Nothing more.
Yes the player count is currently still considered "healthy". But that's also like saying, "it's all good bro, i still have 100 thousand dollars in my bank right now". But when your business's structure and repair is floundering on the inside, it's understandable that there is realistic concern of it's future.
It's not just Respawn either. It's also how EA is currently treating the competitive scene, which is really in sad state.
You can scoff at it all you want, man. I'm only going by current factors. The speculation of failure is a reasonable one. I'm not gunning for it to fail (I adored the gamed). It's just not doing what people expected of it, especially when it raked in all that money.
I had to disband my Make Apex Great Again club with the MAGA tags because they were telling me it was obscene and i had to change it, except they don't let you change it lmao
The number of players confirm a downturn. Period. Respawn know this, for sure.
itzTimmy is expanding his audience. I remember more and more people asking him to go in the direction of Cod...which he tried and found "extremely easy". Him putting Apex aside is like Lupo putting Tarkov aside, there are hidden reasons for this.
Lulu? She left due to how Respawn went back on their word about creator skins (royalties, I think). She hinted at a disrespectful response from Respawn. Thing is, thanks to ALGS and Apex she became as huge as she is today.
A lot of my buddies are leaving Apex behind, though mostly due to anomalies in both the game itself and servers.
But hey, downturns? Every game has them (with the exception of GS:GO; 600k players on average...).
Politics and games don't mix man.
The game has problems, yes, but as long as people keep throwing $$$ for those Wraith and Wingman skins, it'll keep floating no matter how much we complain.
Completely agree.
But that's something these "peaceful", "logical" little angels cannot and will never understand.
Indeed. The usual "if it's there, I'll eat it".
You can't make this stuff up. Really, this is unacceptable, stop creating a fuss and trying to get someone banned.
Discuss games, this game, bugs, fixes, ways to help us move past performance problems, ways to get Respawn (hopefully) to improve AL. Stop with the politics.
