Yes, a lot of streamers are scrambling to play other games, big streamers like Hal and Aceu have commented on it. Twitch views are WAY down and have been even before Overwatch 2 came out.

If season 15 doesn't hit just right, I don't see Apex doing well. Ranked sucks, matchmaking sucks, and the legend balancing sucks.

Yeah right next to *checks notes* Team Fortress 2 which 15 years old and Lost Ark. It's actually in fourth place. It's funny you don't mention just how far it trails behind the top 3 results though. I'll let you post the numbers.

I was a bit rude in my comments, so I apologize for that.

However, it trails behind the top 3 by a consider margin. It's only slightly more popular than Team Fortress 2 today. If you expand your view outside of Steam, Valorant and Overwatch 2 are significantly more popular right now. There's only a handful of competitive shooters on the market, so where does Apex actually stand as opposed to CSGO, Valorant, Overwatch 2, and finally Warzone 2 when it arrives? One good game will completely demolish Apex.

I love Apex, but I have to be honest, it's not in a good spot right now, and I'm starting to see my queue times become longer and matchmaking a bit more uneven which is a sign to me that the player base is dwindling.

Sure, Apex is going for 15 seasons now (preseason through S14), and Overwatch 2 just came out so it's got renewed attention.

Valorant has some new players but Riot's ecosystem has always been more or less a thing of its own, League of Legends is huge, so huge even I have the K/DA collection mnk + mousepad, I don't play League but... Ahri and Kai'Sa, man :yui_smile:

CSGO and Dota will always be the chart toppers because they're the oldest e-sports and have a particularly huge cult following in Asia, as well as being first-party Valve titles. Apex being at #3 on Steam is actually a very strong position, given many players never moved from Origin and that it's the only e-sport game that actually was designed with consoles in mind.

Apex isn't dead, especially considered it's the tail end of a season and most people have already reached a rank they are comfortable with and completed the battle pass and collection events. I'm only playing because of Control, I wish it was a permanent mode, I wrapped up the season a month ago after the Loba heirloom event.

Apex isn't dead yet, but it's veering off a cliff. I used to be big into the Arena mode back when it had a decent population of people, but I stopped playing that mode when everyone else stopped playing it because then it became dominated by smurfs, cheaters, and really high ranked players. At this point, arenas is essentially a ghost town and it's not uncommon to face the same opponents multiple times in a row and wait a long time for a match. The BR mode is starting to feel this way in Apex.

But I hope they turn it around because I have money in this game, spent hundreds of dollars, and I'd like to see it continue.

think about it, they opened market to china and their population is EAGER to play apex they got 1.4 BILLIONS people... if you play in hong kong server you INSTANTLY get a match.

Back up to 220k right now, lol. And those are just Steam numbers, obviously. That doesn't count Origin and consoles. The deadest game that I've ever seen.

Currently has 3x the players of TF2 and 1.5x the players of Lost Ark. Apex is losing to CS:GO, Dota 2, and PUBG. The 3rd to 4th most played game on Steam is definitely dead... lol.
