This wasn't the case with any previous LGBT character (Bloodhound, Gibby, Loba, Valk, Bangalore, Fuse, Seer). Those characters had so much more behind them, that made them more interesting.
Respawn could have introduced Catalyst without hinting that she's trans and people wouldn't have reacted so negatively. They could have mentioned that she's trans in the character bio or a voice quip in-game.
But what pisses me off more is that they abandoned a lot of good storylines in favor of romantic relationships between legends that are supposed to kill each other in a bloodsport.
Trans people are just people, they can hold a gun like any other legend.
I don't see people freaking out about Bloodhound, and they are Non-Binary (which is part of the trans umbrella folks)
Marvel and Disney do it, Rings of Power did it, Blizzard does it, Wizards of the Coast is doing it, and now it's completely caught up with EA aswell.
Politics, minorities and non-binaries and trans-genders, they just have to be represented i suppose.
Why put effort into creating a personality for a character, if you can just make them trans?
But Bloodhounds been in the game for years. It's almost like it's a new issue...
Conversly, EVERYTHING can be made political if you stretch it hard enough. A new legend that used to fill potholes on the road? Political, because the local government is responsible for repairing potholes.
Does it actually offend you that this is part of the game lore that's entirely irrelevant to the gameplay though?
Guy does not want to talk about it but he brings it up anyway. Obviously some of the creators working on the game are part of the LGBTQ community which the Christian community has tirelessly attacked over and over. Perhaps this is a chance to fight back a little but in the end you should be able to ignore all that and just play the game as it has zero impact on game play. The fact that this bothers you means that you are part of the hate problem.
A direct result of many years of abuse towards this group, They are now fighting back and that makes the fools uncomfortable because their Christian background requires it. I am guessing that when slaves started to complain about being slaves people like you wanted to keep a boot on their neck because they make you uncomfortable. Totally your issue, your problem, your upbringing.
