Anyways, I hopped in the firing range and replicated both forward and backwards movement while hopping, without starting momentum like in your video.
I found that the direction you start moving depends on the matching of your camera movement and A / D key press. if you look right when you press D, and A when you look left, you will go backwards. if you press A when you look right, and D when you look left, you will go forward.
