mnk realistically; mouse has more precision and keyboard's got more potential for movement tech and you can keybind pretty much anything
all anyone really tries to say about controllers is that the aim assist, that is strongest at short range, in a battle royale game with assault, marksman and sniper rifles, is overpowered

Just look at the players at the top, most of them go with mouse and keyboard, that has to mean something.

Most of the players in master pred and on top streamers abuse the ♥♥♥♥ out of AA tho.
People are comfortable with M&Kb , but that's because we ain't poopity heads who abuse AA.

Just remove the AA completely from PC and I'm fine, leave it for the console players since they have capped fps.

Controller has aim assist that says all.
Mnk is superior in every way cause if it wasn't they wouldn't have something like aim assist.
That does not mean controller players are bad.

I played apex on release on PC then played season 2-9 on Playstation and then came back to pc.

A Mouse just gives you so much more control.

Playing with a controller is more comfortable tough and there are some players that are godlike with a controller.
For example iTemp plays on PC now with a playstation controller and he literally mops the floor with people.

As someone that spent up till about the age of 34 using M&K but having to main controller for the past 5 years since due to a back pain issue i wish I could use M&K still. Its so much better and seeing the people cry about it makes me eye roll so damn hard.

The only change I would suggest is them making the console aim assist the same as the PC one. Its fine on PC and no reason to be as strong as the console version.

the only reason controller players survive is because the ttk is so high

It's purely delusional Controller players and mediocre Mouse players that think aim assist is fine. AA gives you completely unearned high accuracy and consistency in short-mid range strafe fights. Which is where all of the relevant fighting happens in the game.

It's really not hard to get close to someone in a game that lets you fling your self 100ft through the air. Or teleport. Or fly. Or just wait behind cover for the game's primary mechanic to force a short range fight.

If we're talking about raw input then it's Mouse and it's not even close. Controller Pros would struggle to beat just above average Mouse idiots if they didn't have aim assist.

mid-long range, PC - up close, only if the PC player is a movement god, otherwise, controller easily.

Both M&K and Controller inputs are viable, and used by professionals and streamers alike. Both have advantages and disadvantages, however there is much more to Apex Legends than input method, especially with such a high TTK, i.e. awareness, decision making, positioning, team work, communication, loot RNG and so on. People should just use what input they prefer and feels more comfortable. I'm well aware Controller has aim assist, but I still wouldn't give up my M&K after decades of practice and preference.
