Top 4 tips to improve your KDR in Apex Legends
1 - leave game before you die
2 - leave game before you die
3 - leave game before you die
4 - leave game before you die

All the ones who brag about their kdr... XD Kdr means nothing when you can leave a game any time. It just shows how quick you can leave the game before you die. They day they'll start preventing people from leaving games, I'll start considering it. My teammates even leave ranked games XD. They were down, just DOWN. Why leaving? I don't know whether they don't care about penalties or whether they found a trick not to get one. Oh well.

maybe they should just add a death when you leave the game (subtract 1 death if you win)
There are many times where you find yourself at an unfair disadvantage. I never found kdr to be any relevant. Who you play with also plays a big part!

that's not why statistics exist
imagine if you disregarded two tests because you got better results in two other ones in an experiment; the results are less accurate and it defeats the purpose of having statistics there in the first place

This is, unfortunately, painfully relevant and it's hard to understand why there's been no action taken yet.
No clue what the lad above me is waffling about, though.
lol

i was trying to say that i think that deducting a death from player stats if you win a game kind of goes against the idea of having them there in the first place

Oh, what OP meant was that any in-game match result other than a win should be statistically punished with an automatic death whereas, if you won, that circumstance gets negated by nullifying the "death" mathematically (by "subtracting", as OP phrased it, the "death").

Would be a lot easier to explain what OP was trying to say in code so here we go:
...
if (match_outcome==1) // "1" = win
cout<<death_counter-1<<endl;
else // if (match_outcome=/=1)
cout<<death_counter+1<<endl;

leaving the game is equivalent to dying unless you win so there’s no difference
not counting the death for leaving the game to inflate your k/d “defeats the purpose of statistics”

if youre about to die and you leave before it happens, does that not taint the statistics already? how does not adding 1 to the death count fix this?

your character actually stays in the game if you have dealt damage.
So once the match is over the death will be added to your k/dr

i kind of agree with that; it’s just the inverse that doesn’t sit right with me for some reason

I usually take the sweet death if I'm not dropping solo in trios. Leaving is saving your time, but you also avoiding consequences that most likely were drawn upon you by yourself only. Loving those suiciders who join the match just to die miserably and disconnect immediately
