The first thing I noticed was that my cpu (AMD Ryzen 3600) was locked in its base clock speed of 3.6ghz.
Normally it would auto boost to 4.2ghz when running apps.
This affected my fps count in Apex.
I checked my Windows power settings and saw that it reverted to balanced state after an update. I changed it back to best performance. CPU is now running as intended.
I also reinstalled my gpu drivers and verified my Apex game files through Steam. It found a corrupted file and repaired it.
Seems like this fixed it for me.
In addition to this, Apex is all over the place when it comes to fps performance while on the drop ship. At times, it drags a bit because of the way it loads the maps. It's a server based thing.
What's important is how many frames you get once you're on the ground. :)
It's never consistent with Apex.
