"Get knuckle clustered by the entire map and never say fuse sucks again".
Melee snaps towards target, meaning you travel an additional distance.
Even if melee pushes someone away for a small distance, that melee snapping is enough to close that gap. So if you're not able to continuously land melee hits someone, it's possible that you're not making use of maximum travel speed and such.
Melee can also easily disrupt your opponent's aim. So lets say your enemy has a gun upon landing, and you don't. If you're close enough, high chance is that you'd win the fight most of the time due to punching the sorry dude continuously. Or even stop someone from running away because of the pushing.
EDIT: But ofcourse there are players who do not get affected by punching and prevail in such situation.
30 damage I would say is reasonable enough. With what it's doing at this point.
EDIT:IF it does not push enemy and snaps to enemy, I'd say then melee can receive damage increase. Otherwise, not really IMO.
However, since you're asking why it's "weak", how can it be changed? Personally I'd like to think it's good enough.
Okay, admittedly I do kind of give people a fisty-whooping every time I land near some one, even if they grab a gun first but thats arguably a difference in skill issue. What i think melee needs is to not push away the attacker on succesful hit and a straight up increase in damage to let's say 45.
IF it does not push enemy away AND does not snap to enemy, I would agree the damage can receive some buff. Else, I'd say it's doing too much then.
As by then, melee would be by skill based than automatic snapping. All would be fair.
I feel like melee just needs a cooldown on the "snap" when you lock onto your foe. Let's say 4 seconds.
But generally speaking if there was removal of said lock on-snap and pushback, I think i'd prefer that as it would mean I can melee without pause.
