why do people who suck want to hot drop?

In pubs it is a great way to get better. forcing early fights help teach basic mechanics for newer players

With the state of the servers these days it doesn't make any sense to drop hot anymore. Literally can't fire your weapon, shot through walls and doors, no reg hits etc.. all in the hot drop zone until like 5 squads are dead.

well the reason i hot drop even with my long ass queues is cause usually im put in with bad teamates so even if i loot the first action we get we die so id rather get action at the start of the game and lose then sit and camp

People tend to make assumptions really quick. Hot-droping is always a lotery, unless you're really really good. Sometimes you jump and die... that doesn't mean that player is bad.

It's risk and reward. The pros of going in hard (beyond the potential for points) is you find out if your squad is any good immediately, as opposed to wasting 5-10 minutes and then getting splattered on the first engage.

You could've been spending those minutes racking up points with a stronger team.

Luck plays a part as well. Sometimes you wind up with 6 kills and other times you're the meat. You have no idea who you're dropping with, or against, or how the drop is really going to play out. That's the game.

Dropping out of sight allows you to chill, but on balance I'd say the game is geared towards going big. They may get a few lucky wins, but I can't imagine rats have a very high point average.

that is the way to improve, when you loot for 5 mins and die its annoying and you don't have any shooting practice.

as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ player, I hate looting for 5+ plus and dying before I feel like I have a chance to fight. I prefer to drop somewhere with 2 other teams max so at least I feel like I have a shot a surviving. But hotdrop is fine too, it's either get better at movement and decision making or die. What I hate is jump master who don't commit to a drop and lands with zero chance at getting any loot.

Or meet me in the middle and get a looter drop then your team immediately ignores all the loot and charges into the middle of an ongoing three-way with their white tier underwear on.
I'm sitting on my rock with a maxed out sniper wondering why tf they're flaming me for daring to even grab a gun.

This is only slight hyperbole.

If I want to hotdrop I'll just play Arena instead

I feel like in this game you either get in the ♥♥♥♥ really quickly and go from there or you're looting for like 85% of time while looking for any signs of life, and not until the last 3 squads is there any action and it's over in like 3 minutes.
