Why would a game be designed around a major flaw to one of it's aspects intentionally?
You are right @ most points, and it doesn't disprove a word I said.
In fact, it reinforces them.
Same experience here
Do you mean Horizon Zero Dawn? haven't played it, but it looks alright, nothing like Nier Automata tho.
Each character is designed to be clearly different from another character siluet wise already (See TF2 as another example of that)
Your entire Argument chains fails at the point of looks as looks are purely Subjective, what one person likes another may not. If you do want to argue what a "right" look is then provide statistical evidence both proofing what a "proper" look is as well as statistical evidence what a "wrong" look is in a peer reviewed study as you claim so the entire time but conviniently forget to post any form of concrete evidence backed by actual research.
(You raised the point multiple times as such you´re the one to provide evidence, don´t try to skip on that duty)
Secondly the game is primarely enjoyed for it´s gameplay, not the look of the characters, they look unique, not everyone must participate in a contest of "who can wear the least clothes" Especially in a game that aims for a semi reasonable approach to combat lore and design wise.
Memorable doesn´t mean Sexy but rather unique, something that can be recognized even outside of it´s usual enviroment.
Reading through this thread you kept defending your point based on Gacha games, well known for predatory tactics, which only have the selling point of looks over anything else such as gameplay. Compare their Earnings to those of other great titles, lets take world of warcraft where everyone looks like half a square, practically no gacha game can even compare to the income WoW has Generated and will Generate solely based on it´s size alone.
It seems like, based on your posts, that you have a hard time Grasping the concept of other´s oppinions or capability of properly understanding them which in itself can make one to come to diferent conclusions based on that. I´ll not further dive into that unless necesary.
Not everything has to be eye Candy, not stating eye candy isn´t a good thing that sells well (See character/weapon skins) but claiming it is the only selling point or the largest one is absolutely wrong. A fine example for that is minecraft, it is Pixalated graphics yet it´s the most sold game on this planet there is absolutely nothing Sexy in that game.
You also have to take diferent markets into account, gacha games if they where even legal to begin with in the west, would most certainly not sell that well as most players would see the predatory nature of the game very easily and sub par gameplay which would drive away most players. Western players, as well as the Japanese ones, usually look for gameplay, looks are a neat bonus but not neccesary, see Minecraft, WoW, CS:GO, TF2. They sold due to their gameplay, not their design and none of them would benefit form sex apeal that much if at all as they´re played for their Superb gameplay, not any anime Skins inside of them.
Remember, a proper discussion or argument is not necesarely intented to force or convince someone of another opinion but rather to lay out your own opinion. Do not mistake counter arguments or points as hostility, but rather another person on the other side having another stance than yourself. It is not needed that one proves to be right in such cases but rather to have a conversation and widen your and their view on things, explain what you mean and stand for.
I see your point that design can sell, I don´t disagree with that on it´s own. However I do not suport the fact that it is "the" best or the most lucrative, not for videogames at last, as gameplay is equally important as well as believability and immerson for me. As such I enjoy this game as the Developer took gameplay over eye candy, which is what I look for in games. Others look for good visual designs, such as yourself, which I can understand to a degree, but for me Gameplay always beats visual Design.

no i meant the new apex character
this
Hell, make them all into Fat Albert and I'll still pick whichever Albert has the skillset I want to make use of this match. :|
Not pretending like the fugliest things to ever plague gaming look good in any way, or trying to make up excuses to distract from the subject, you know they are fugly and you're fine with it, some people aren't, that's the point of the thread.
