You can search the subreddit and the best, most concise answer you'll get is
https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/atkt1i/unsupported_cpus_megathread_popcnt_error/
Then, you'll browse reddit in general for other games with these problems(they were a lot, but their developers fixed them).

Don't leave just yet.. this thread will redirect you to:https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4xene1/pc_crash_thread/d6eyr23/?context=3
, which will make you install SDE, test it out yourself, waste 2 hours in cmd.exe only to later find a github thread due to the EAC error saying "Trying to launch in debugging mode", making you stuck. Following it, you'll google how others dealt with it. Here's a thread of people trying to make this work with a lot of coding, plugins and, well, Linux and faking your CPU ID/Capabilities.
https://github.com/ogurets/popcnt_emulator/issues/3
TLDR: As the user said, "it kicks you each minute" and "in the end, the game really uses SSE4, here are 3 error IDs, the devs know what they're doing".
You are free to try to find a way to make POPCNT Emulator work. There must be something. It's just that DLL injection is a bit difficult to get past, at least for those people.
Let us know if you find something, I want to get in the game myself without using Geforce NOW or other game streaming service(induces latency).
Waiting full of hope for solutions and replies!
Also, in reply to that mean comment about the dyno CPU, upgrading it's not as simple as that. In most other games, the Q9650(yes, LGA775) performs as well as an i5 first/second gen, and same as the i3-6100. There's no better CPU we can get unless on a new motherboard. Which means something that's DDR4. And even used it's at least, if not more, than 150 euros(Motherboard, CPU, RAM) for something not compelling. It is still a CPU that can get 60FPS on a huge number of games (Nier:Automata, FFXIV, Fortnite, L4D2, 100 on CSGO, you name it). I wish it also was as easy as paying 50$ for a new CPU.
I also got this Unsupported CPU pop up stating CPU does not have POPCNT! I honestly think they program games to use only half our CPU cores and power. They have been caught many times not optimizing, and even flat out scamming us every way they can think of.
And I completely disagree with "broken game for rushed trash".
Gamers having to fix the games should be a anomaly not a constant state of yes broken because this game won't start bs. Big game companies especially simply know better, and with nearly no more effort, sometimes a few hours more effort could turn afterthought trash ports, and paper weight junk into something properly or at least tolerably developed, PC optimized, and playable
