I'd just like to interject for a has Apex Legends

Doesn't require Origin!

You will be able to play Apex without having Origin installed!

They would need to have third party drm notification on store page like for other ea games

Checking the store page, only an EA Account is necessary, but not the Origin client.

I assume so. Because you have to use your origin account.

I don't see how it could not need Origin unless they used Steamworks for the online functions, which would cut the player community in half. No way they would do that.

I saw some posts on reddit about this regarding titanfall 2

"Someone verified that the Steam purchase launches through an Origin thin-client over on /r/titanfall. Looks like it'll just ask you for an EA account and stay out of your way."
