How difficult is this game?
It has dark souls tags but can it be played on easy or normal? I have zero interest in hardcore gameplay.

I played on this difficulty the whole game, it is the difficulty people who played Dark Souls / NioH / Sekiro / the Surge etc will enjoy since they have more experience with games of this type. On this setting it is harder than Dark Souls in my opinion but slightly easier than Sekiro.

Jedi Grand Master = Extreme. I have tried this difficulty for some time and it makes everything deal around 3x more damage compared to Master. Enemies are tough but the real deal are Bosses, as they will usually 1-shot you with ANY attack and is a difficulty I can suggest only to extremely high skill players or those who enjoy unfair, insane challenges.

Pick your choice. In any case it is a great game.

Big time haha.

Google says minimum wage in AUS is $19.49/hr. Is that not the case? Because 100 AU is just 68 which is slightly more than I paid after tax with dollars and miniumum here is definitely not 19.49.

No minimum wage is just over $15 Have to have a pretty good job and a fair employer to get $19

Even at $19 thats still 5-6 hours work to buy one game..

Hey dude, I got this for $20 included in a months Origin Premier, I'd recommend it there.

I've mainly played on story mode and I'm at about 26 hours, 65%, including looking for alot of lore and general full exploration of areas.

You could easily pop this on story mode and blast through the story in 5-15 hours (It definitely varies depending on your actual speed and what you do.)

Anyway, it is very accessible and cheap on Origin Premier (don't go basic, it doesn't have it or at best has a short trial of 10 hours, which may not be enough time and that's even IF it includes a Jedi Fallen Order trial so don't quote me. Fork out $20 and have a blast for the linear canon story of Cal the Jedi.)

I would say play on at least jedi knight(or even jedi master), and only drop to story mode if you get flustered. its not souls hard, you just have to slow down a bit and learn the paterns of the many enemies.

The big difference off the top of my head is with story mode you can die from great falls and respawn without ever losing health, where any difficulty higher results in health lost and eventual respawn at the last meditation ring you actually sat at.
So story mode is quicker. + the obvious massive damage you deal making boss fights a breeze aswell as exploration.

I'd definitely say though if they want a one time story playthrough to not buy it, just sub it for a month and 1/5 the price.

good point, on subbing even if want to play it again a few months later you can just resub again anyway.

Yeah, Aussie prices for new games are beyond grief.
I've just moved over from PS4 to PC fully and tbh I'm overly happy subscription services just begun so I don't need to rebuy copies of games. I'd literally be spending another 2K on games I already own. Even on sales they're awfully dear sometimes. I don't watch Anime but I feel sorry for any Aussie wanting anime, looking at $40+ for say a copy of Spirited Away, it's just... ew.

So yeah, sub services really save money IMO.
+ last month there was a free gifting of Origin premier or basic if you two factored authenticated your account so I just paid $20 for 2 months.

The Dark Souls tag is wrongly applied.

Says the guy who didn't play the game. It feels very very much like a Souls game in many aspects.

Fallen Order can be frustrating game as its difficulty settings are rather imbalanced. I played the game on Jedi Master difficulty, 2nd hardest, and the game was a struggle a lot of the time. It was not really because of how difficult enemies were but because the control system is not as sharp and responsive as Dark Souls. Attacks, blocks and parries are a lot less crisp, animations take too long and you can not cancel out of many animation at all.

Problem with Fallen order is that Jedi Master is a frustrating at times but Jedi Knight is way too easy.
