You might have to reach out to EA on this one.
If you don't have an origin account you're logged in as a guest of sorts.
Have you tried doing REPAIR on origin?
Also you can try go in settings on origin and set game library location to the folder where jedi fallen order is installed, than after this you click download and it will say something like PREPARING, that means hopefully it found the gamefiles and is recognizing it's already installed.
Try these 2 things.
Yes, tried both things. The repair did not fix it, it re-downloaded all 50GB. As for pointing it to the 50GB Steam install, its in the process of finding itself again - even with all the steam files its still downloading "_STAGED" copies of the files first, then deletes it after it finds the files.
There is a comment thread on Origin site about this as well, but there have been no answers so far.
Diagnosis: origin being origin, so another way of saying it's being complete garbage. I hate that client for stuff like this. On steam it NEVER HAPPENS.
- that you currently have the game already installed on Steam
- that you do not have the game installed from Origin
- Install Jedi using Origin in the location where Steam has downloaded the game. If you have the folder open you'll see "_staged" files. You'll get to about 46% complete (Origin will not pass this %). Stop the download in Origin. Exit out of Origin.
- Using Steam, uninstall Jedi - Do not uninstall from Origin. You should no longer have the "Play" option in Steam
- Log back into Origin, re-install Jedi from Origin again - again make sure path is at the steam install location. This time Origin install will reach 100%.
- Restart Origin
Now you can launch the game from within Origin. You cannot use steam to "play" the game. This kept my current save progress. I know its silly but I literally tried hours of different methods. I have installed the game 6 times in 3 different locations (Steam, Origin Default, Origin over Steam) and this was the only way I got it to work for me. There were a couple of installs where it seemed to work, but then Origin would pop up and say the game was not installed.
I like pain :P
