hmm im looking for mid range rifle
Guilty Throne seems to be your best bet Grim Reaper has a longer range and Astraeus is basically a rifle cousin of a SMG
use a bunch of extend range V mods and High cal rounds V mods for it. will work with any 3 slot assault rifle. (you get those from exploration and folks like me dont mind carrying as long as the bots have someone else to shoot at and hit)

anything else is just cosmetic really at this point unless youre talking melee weapons.

The Guilty Throne is the upgraded version of the Grim Reaper, and is the best mid-range AR to reach for, generally speaking. Fair warning: it has a high memory usage stat, so expect that it might strain your loadout's memory capacity.

That one I haven't encountered yet, but I've used the Guilty Throne right up through the end of the story. I can safely vouch for its effectiveness.
Lost Heart(Dreadnought Alpha blueprint AR) has the best balanced performance-- on the downside, it only has one slot. You'll have to run Exploration missions to expand it to three slots, so until then, just use a placeholder AR.

Gun Arm AR is also quite good, bottomless clip but without the ability to switch weapons.

Its why i recommend missiles, laser cannons or repair support for shoulder weapons and to be mindful of where the ammo drops are.

The extra ammo auxillary helps to minimize this by giving 50% more max ammo making you have 1200-1500 rounds per gun without ammo capacity mods on the arms.

gives you 5-8 minutes fighting Zeruchroar of continuous crit fire with dodging.

If it's pvp, just use grim reaper III, meta is bullet speed, guilty throne is bait.
Speaking of Zeruch, assuming you're doing it in a group instead of soloing, Phase 2 is basically a free win.

The moment Zeruch stops moving, well-placed Gunfort Lasers will drop its HP by about 10-15% each, which is enough to kill Zeruch. The only "hard" part is getting Zeruch to 50% HP via burst on phase 1.

Considering my ♥♥♥♥♥ ACfA piloting pedigree I’m used to it
Depends on your character build realy. Some are best as close combat due to fire rate, while others are more of ranged. You have to fight at optimal range to get the best damage on each of them (you can see this in stats).

Also some take a lot of memory, so they may not be the best option to take (getting over has a huge negative effect on lock)
