What is an easy way to deal with all the barge items?
see title, whats the fastest way to deal with storage bins and the 500 terminals in every room, tether them all? tether one at time? force push them?

Option 1: Remove a floor tile either with the splitsaw or vaporizing its supports (my preference, it's faster and simpler) to give a clear shot to the barge. Then yeet everything one by one into the barge.

Option 2: Strip the outer hull (nanocarbon), any expensive interior nanocarbon, and any expensive furnace items (tables, for example). Then tether the whole inner hull into the barge. Furnace items are not worth much, you should easily clear the highest salvage reward. You can split the hull into managable chunks by vaporizing the supports that hold the hull together.

Hey can y'all stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at each other and let me know how to actually barge the ship in one go? Stripped the outer bits but the inner is too heavy for tethers. Is it just smashing the outer processing panels into the top to shove it or someone I'm missing?

Nevermind, I figured it out. Cut a single panel off, shove it through the hole, then slowly drag it towards the barge as much as you can without the tether going red. Put a wall between you and the panel. It moves pretty steadily and the whole thing was done in a few minutes.

It can also be done the other way around. Physics in this game can be a little weird, so while you can't push a ship into the barge, you can push a crisp packet (or any other item) into a ship and that can push a ship into a barge.

It's funny how the discussion about efficiency versus respecting the "colour code" that you guys are having is an echo to the one that keeps happening in my head while playing, like most players I suppose. I switched my playstyle a few times actually, and both can definitely be fun.

The problem lies in the fact that the game doesn't recognises those distinct and valid playstyles, which results in both feeling wrong :
- if you follow colour codes and separate each element before sending it, it feels like you're wasting time for very little gains (especially with the furnace)
- if you throw entire chunks of a ship in the barge (or entire ships although I'd never do that), sure that's efficient, but it can break immersion (poor barge workers !) and goes against the premise of the game.

I think the solution would be to have an option for campaigns, yes I know another one, that would either
- encourage efficiency with time bonuses maybe, and more simply being able to start new ships in the same work shift, or
- encourage being thorough by extending shift time limits, giving more rewards at high ratings, and punishing mistakes a bit more.
That way the player would set the rules for a campaign, and the game would make that particular playstyle they chose more enjoyable, by making it feel like "the best way" for that particular campaign.
