How to Decompress A Javelin Safely
After adventures in Gecko depressurisation I'm moving to trying out Javelins, partly because Gecko's take 2hrs+ to full salvage. So here's what I've learnt through failing 4 times :P

1) Do not cut in the hull, 3 times I've tried this, it always results in the hull breaking, whether
it be cutting a slot in the hull to let air out via a demo charge or cutting the connections on the hull plate.

2) Enter javelin, pick up fuses, wires etc and find a working air regulator (if possible) and decompress the room or a closed airless room.

3) Open doors one at a time with the door controls until all volumes are decompressed.

4) Then close the doors and cut them open to be able to easily recycle them :P

And yeah, unlike a Gecko, the hull plating on a Javelin and the general layout are not good enough to safely decompress the space between the inner and outer hulls like you can with a Gecko. So doing it the safe and methodological way is the best way.

Also when cutting the big hull section rings at the front, you really want to make sure there's nothing at all in the plane of the demo charge, as past the green plane of it there's a 1m+ zone of potential damage. Which I found out the hard way...

Easiest way I've found to decompress a Javelin is to run through the ship, pick up all the items you can, shove all the loose stuff out through the airlock that can't be picked up, then close all the doors and head back outside. Burn out one of the windows on the cockpit from a distance, wait for it to vent, go in through there and open up each door one by one.

The Javelin's cockpit window literally has a pair of cut points to remove it altogether. Notably breakable things inside the cockpit are the atmospheric regulator and the two small computers next to the ceiling. Nothing breaks apart from those, so just grab hold of the wall and cut away. The cockpit glass will go flying off intact (not very far, it's heavy), 2-4 pieces of the surrounding hull plating will be torn off intact (easy to find and grab afterwards, 0 loss).

On the cargo Javelin you've got front and rear cockpits to do this. On the fuel Javelin just cut an airlock door to depressurise initially, there's nothing delicate in the room besides the atmospheric regulator.

javelins are my fav ships for sure, hazard lvl fuel or cargo jav can give you 16m ++ profit on salvage... takes me aprox 70 mins to do this.... i never rushed games i play with open shift mode, no timer or shifts.. just o2 drain thats it.. wont share any decompression tips, dont wanna spoil anything to others...

I'm just talking about the one section of window at the top of the frame. Not really going to sweat the 9500 credits or whatever that one small section of glass is worth given the overall value of that ship.

You can cut the Javelin cockpit free for the same effect, and on the rear section you can pop one of the antenna mounts. Just make sure you switch back to the grapple to catch the latter when you do it.

The rear section of the Javelins i have just been burning out the door right off the bat. I have never had a problem so far.

Also i can usually do even the more complicated ships in 4 shifts, 2 if I get bored and just start yeeting things into the furnace with the inner hull. 2+ hours seems kind of extreme though. You must be really taking your time. Like hand delivering everything where it goes.
