Capital-Class Ships? Mods? Multiplayer? OH MY!
It would be SO amazing if we could eventually have some truly massive Capital-Class ships to tear down over MANY MANY shifts. They have listed they want to do "user generated content". Maybe with mods we'll be able to tear down a Star Destroyer? :D

Or Homeworld ships, since Blackbird also publishes this game.

Dude, I didn't even think about co-op. Being able to have multiple people working on tearing down a ship. Oh mannnn

Before they do that, they have to fix the save system so it saves the ship in the bay. Right now, if you exit the game the ship you were working on is lost.

Oh, well for now it at least persists from shift to shift.

Interseted in doing Larger Cap sized ships, even maybe doing Co-Op on ships of Cap/Super-Cap class. But willing to wait till the game is finished and fleshed out. One way I would like to see it implimented if they do Co-op is letting it be based off cert levels. Only at cert 5 right now and not experianced everything as it is yet, but maybe once you get one cert where you have had a chance to deal with all the hazards, you unlock Co-Op. Blow myself up and shock myself enough with out having to worry about the FNG Breaker, this coming from a relativley FNG Breaker.

For me and a buddy, our favorite aspect of space engineers is capturing cargo ships, bringing them back to our chop shop and carving them up. This game in co-op would be amazing for us.
Maybe eventual workshop support for player submitted ships to cut up?

I think support for player-generated ships is going to be so widespread that they have to do it eventually. And they have already mentioned they want to do some "user generated content". What other content could they be talking about besides ships? It's gotta be ships.

Their roadmap / FAQ says that they plan to add "user generated content" (i read that as either mods or workshop) and that they would love but are unsure of multiplayer and that it's not a priority.

Well i mean the geckos take multiple shifts already

Yeah but there's a massive difference between a small freighter and a capital ♥♥♥♥♥♥' ship. What's your point? Rhetorical question. Bigger is better.

complexity. but i have to say as much as i would like to see cap ships. i see some issues like travel time and oxygen. we would also need much larger salvage bays or some kind of mobile platform. hm might be an interesting idea some kind of salvage ship that has a huge grapple to move larger chunks/components.

To be perfectly honest, realistically, I think capital ships or even destroyers+ is probably outside the scope of what they want to do, or even can do. My processor isn't that old but it struggles even with the Gecko. Anything larger would just be even worse.

Capital ship debate is rather pointless cause it all depends on the lore. While lot of ships are incredibly massive in most universes, but then you have something like "Star Citizen", which has frigate thus far which scale is within scope of this game.

In this game you can see lot of ships flying around in the background of this game as well. Thou the massive ship definitely won't something we be dismantling.

Sorry to commit thread necromancy, but thanks to the full release of the game, this is now a possibility with the game able to save between sessions. Hopefully, the mod community can get in on custom ship designs, soon.
