Portrait crashing

With the recent 1.18 update, whenever i right click a portrait of a character (usually child rulers, but somehow also some adults) it just instantly crashes the game. it used to be worse during 1.18.0.1 and is still somehow worse in 1.18.2

I DO have a massive modpack but im sure it's just the game itself having issues

Since the game itself (either version) is not having that issue you should probably re-evaluate your 'mod pack' for crashing your game whenever you click on a portrait.

There are currently 16K people playing CK3 and they, along with me, do not seem to be having your issue... but we do not run your 'mod pack'.

Imagine having the audacity to sit here and say it's the base game and definitely not the "massive modpack" you've got.

check your crash/game logs and then ask for help in the "workshop discussions" forum.

additionally, as you provided zero information aside from "I'm crashing with mods." we cannot help, as you've explained nothing related to the UI modifications or 3D models changes you've installed.

solutions:
option 1) Roll back to the version your mods are made for
option 2) uninstall the mods.
option 3) do small batch testing until you find the conflicting mod(s)

I had such crashes from time to time, it comes from game updates or if you remove Mods mid save.

Sometimes it's mods conflicting with each other especially those who try to hog the Right Click Menu for themselves (Had many mods who clashed with Total Conversion Mods because of that)
