Constant crashing

I am playing my first long-term campaign, trying to get to the end date, but since about 1350 my game keeps crashing every 1 hour or less. It crashes so hard it even messes up my Steam, forcing it to reboot.

I know Paradox games always struggle with endgame lag, but this atrocious, bordering on unplayable. In 2000 hours of CK2 I remember barely any crashes while not using mods, now my game crashes about every couple years. Also, it freezes for ages at regular intervals each year, even though my autosave setting is every 5 years.

Before you go "wooden pc pleb", I can run the Horizon games at max or near-max settings without issue, I don't think a game where you move numbers around on a map should tax my machine so hard it bricks my entire Steam installation every hour.

The only thing I can think of is moving the install from my HDD to one of my SSDs. I assumed it wouldn't be a problem other than a slightly longer load time. Anyone know if that could help with the crashing?

same here . Have a same issue since last update. Crash every 20 - 30 minutes. Disable mods does not solve issue. Steam file check also not found anything. game crash even on completely fresh game with onle one small county.

I have the same problem. Usually have to make 2-4 attempts just to load the game/mod. When it does finally load, it will inevitably CTD within 10 mins or so and keep repeating this until I finally get fed up with reloading and the load times and the constant CTD's and exit the game. Now its doing a new trick, its rebooting my pc instead of just not loading or crashing...fun little bug.

This is exactly what has been happening to me. The rebooting of steam, the crashing. Thought OneDrive was the problem, verfied files, reinstalled, no mods, restarted PC, etc etc. I barely see anyone else talking about this issue so I'm glad I'm not the only one. Hope this gets resolved ASAP- I'm out of ideas.

Same here No Mods enabled. I hear the fanfare in the beginning then crash.

i made it little bit more stable using ck3 binary directly without paradox launcher

Any chance someone from Paradox could do us the courtesy of responding. Reinstalled multiple times, followed all the help advice and no mods installed. Game unplayable now.
