Another broken save game
Honestly Paradox please go eat sh1t. I spend 100's of hours building an extensive empire with perfectly curated traits for my massive dynasty and now nothing works. Can't designate guardians, can't equip artifacts, no religions show correctly and this list just goes on and on. Stop ******* up the game with your greedy ass DLC's and garbage tier updates that consistently ruin EVERYTHING every single time. I wish I could get back the signifcant hours I have invested in this title because right now it is a sh1tpile that I honestly cannot find any reason to keep sinking time into. Fix it or **** off

Sounds like you loaded a 1.19 save into 1.20.
PDX announces when major versions drop. They give you the option to roll back to old versions.
Don't load old saves on new major versions ever. Rollback to previous version first.
Self inflicted damage is the best kind of damage.

This was 100% avoidable, but no better yell at Paradox for providing new content.
I know this is an old fashioned idea but maybe it would be better if they built the game before they started selling it to people
its actually trash that a DLC i didnt buy ruined my game adding mechanics i specifically did not want. hence not buying it. when i bought the game i was under the impression iwas getting what i paid for. not something they they will change and destroy on a whim for money.

you can very easily change which version of the game you are playing

Youre welcome to wait until they stop working on it
I will be sure to take your advice, Paradox Bot, and never buy one of these games again
This is not unique to CK3 or any Paradox game.

If there is a major update, it is quite likely that old saves do not work.
Not knowing this would happen is possible, if you bought a Paradox game for the first time after the previous DLC. Ranting and arguing about it on here is a joke though. It takes you longer to do than it would take to set the game to the correct version for your save.

There may not have ever been any software or hardware, that has not needed updates after release. Cisco, Palo Alto, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon, every other enterprise vendor, and any gaming company have bugs, software vulnerabilities, etc.

Before the internet was available, there was that golden old fashioned idea that you spoke of. It meant that there were no updates or post-release support because there was no method to distribute patches or any type of game update.

Personally, I would rather have patches, feature additions, and DLCs.

It would be even easier for you people to revert back to the previous version of the game, instead of crying that a game is being improved.

Im glad they make it easier for us to do this
Every time, there are at least a few of these "tried to continue an old save after a major update" threads, and they never stop being facepalm-worthy.
