Adventurer to estate not working.

Started as Ubbe and grinded a 1000 gold and got the emperor of Byzantium to be my patron. Bought the estate and got a game over screen. Very interesting.

Same thing happened to me in Byzantium too; reloaded and the same thing happened again. It didn't even give me the estate menu.

Yeah this is a universal bug that's been around since 1.19 if memory serves me right.

I got 1000 gold as a Nestorian Syriac adventurer and paid for an estate in China and had the exact same thing happen, without fail or exception.

The bug is caused by the game destroying your adventurer camp BEFORE it gives you your estate title, meaning that for a moment your ruler has no titles, which triggers the game over.

A ridiculously dumb and easily fixed bug that Paradox have thus far ignored in favor of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out more low-quality DLC's.

If it doesn't result in shareholder profit, don't expect Paradox to prioritize it. If they had found some sort of way to SELL us the fix, they would've already patched it by now.
